Linblomman is one of Karlstad's oldest parent cooperatives. We work according to Montessori pedagogy. With active parents, high staff density, and small child groups, we strive to offer a preschool where children and educators thrive, and where children develop in a fun, safe, and stimulating environment. We have well-educated staff and good staff continuity with many years of experience in preschool operations and working with children.

The current staff group consists of six educators (one of whom is the principal and works 50% in the child group). Linblomman is organized into two departments where there is close cooperation between the departments. In the Linet department, we have our older children, from three to six years, with space for 19 children. Three educators work here. In Linet, you will find the typical Montessori materials developed for different subjects and divided into five different areas – language, mathematics, culture, sensory, and practical.

In the Fröet department, you will find our youngest children, from one to about three years. There is space for eight children, and two educators work in this department. The children are in a prepared environment where the furniture is adapted to the children's size, and the materials/toys are easily accessible to the children and respond to their needs and interests.

The preschool strives to serve organic and locally produced food. All food is prepared in our own kitchen.

Job Responsibilities

You will be part of a team of six educators divided into two departments, where the principal is involved in the daily operations. As one of our educators will be retiring, we are now looking for a new colleague. You should be able to work in both the small and large child departments as we sometimes rotate positions at the start of a new school year.

You are responsible for planning, implementing, and documenting the pedagogical content of the teaching together with colleagues, and working with them to ensure that the goals and intentions of the curriculum are met at both the individual and group levels. At Linblomman, we work with digital documentation through the Preschool App. You are expected to work according to the Education Act, the curriculum for preschool (Lpfö 18), and Montessori pedagogy.

Qualifications

We are looking for a qualified childcare worker. It is advantageous if you are a trained Montessori teacher or have experience working in Montessori operations; otherwise, it is a prerequisite that you have a willingness/interest to further educate yourself as a Montessori teacher.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities. We see that you contribute to a positive work climate, have very good collaboration skills, and a strong commitment to your work as a childcare worker.

Employment Conditions

Position: Permanent employment, 75%, but with the possibility of working more.
