Leader for the Processing Department

Are you a confident and stable leader with expertise in case management and regulatory enforcement? We are now looking for someone to lead the processing department during a temporary position of about 1 year.

About the Job

The Processing Department is responsible for managing, distributing, and monitoring state grants for preschools and schools, as well as issuing preschool teacher and teacher certifications and maintaining a register of certified teachers and preschool teachers. The department employs over 130 staff members distributed across six units, each led by a unit manager. One of the units for state grants is located in Härnösand, which means that travel to that office is included in the position.

As the head of the Processing Department, you will be responsible for ensuring that applications for teacher certifications are handled quickly and securely, as well as for distributing state grants amounting to 25 billion in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

Together with the six unit managers, you will lead the department's work. You will formulate goals and strategies and drive continuous improvement in the department's work processes, development, and competence supply. You play an important role in embodying the agency's culture and values.

You will report directly to the Director General of the National Agency for Education and be part of the agency's management team, contributing to the development of the entire agency and helping us achieve our goals.

You will be based in our modern and spacious office in Solna Business Park. You may also have the opportunity to work up to 50% remotely.

In this job, you should have:

  • an academic degree in a field that the National Agency for Education deems relevant,
  • several years of experience as a manager with personnel and budget responsibilities,
  • experience leading and working with case management, production management, and regulatory enforcement,
  • experience from working in a politically governed organization, preferably public sector,
  • very good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English.

It is an advantage if you have experience leading other managers and have worked with handling cases in large volumes. It is also advantageous if you have experience in media relations in your professional role.
