Group Leader at SiS Youth Home Bergsmansgården
The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care (SiS) is an authority responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse. SiS also implements closed youth care. We do this at youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse across the country. At SiS, your work life becomes an exciting challenge. No matter where in our organization you work or what position you hold, you help create life-changing transformations.
SiS Youth Home Bergsmansgården receives non-compulsory school-age girls. The institution is located in Fjugesta, thirty kilometers west of Örebro. The girls come to us because they have psychosocial issues as well as problems with crime or substance abuse.
Job Description
Are you motivated by helping young people/clients in vulnerable life situations? Do you also enjoy organizing, leading, and planning? Apply for the position of group leader at SiS! As a group leader, you contribute to a safe and secure environment for both placed children and young people/clients as well as staff. In this role, you actively work in the operational care and treatment work on the department. You are responsible for planning, operationally leading, and distributing the daily work. You act as a role model and promote that the work is conducted legally and in accordance with applicable governing documents, methods, and set goals. You continuously keep the unit manager on your department updated on issues that may affect the work environment, care and treatment environment, or deficiencies in the operation. Introduction and guidance of new employees are also part of your work. You are part of a team with a unit manager and treatment secretary, and you will have close collaboration to achieve good results together.
Qualifications
To thrive and succeed in the role of group leader, you are motivated to work with and help people in vulnerable life situations. The operational work and meeting with young people/clients are your main focus. You are good at planning, organizing, and prioritizing work effectively and are clear in your communication with others. At the same time, you are attentive and affirming in your interactions with young people/clients and colleagues and are good at building relationships. You have a professional approach and a good ability to collaborate and to understand others' perspectives. The work can sometimes be challenging and requires you to be stable and maintain calm even in stressful situations.
You should also have:
- A university degree of at least 180 higher education credits with a focus on social, care, or behavioral sciences
- Several years of qualified work experience within SiS or another organization focused on care, treatment, and security, such as social services, care and treatment, correctional services, or other relevant fields.
- Good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both in writing and verbally.
