Job Responsibilities

We are now looking for a section manager for a fixed-term assignment in the Young Adults section, which works with the target group aged 18–25 years dealing with addiction, crime, and socially destructive behavior.

As a section manager, you are responsible for leading and distributing work within your section, with responsibilities for finance, personnel, and work environment. In the section, there is also a senior social worker responsible for case distribution and supervision, with whom you will have close collaboration. The section has a pilot project in collaboration with the region, where one of the employees is half-time senior linked to that assignment. You work in collaboration with managers and employees to develop competence, engagement, and job satisfaction. Through clear communication and guidance, you stimulate employees and utilize and develop their knowledge and experiences. Furthermore, you are responsible for further developing social work, keeping yourself updated on current research and evidence-based methods in the field.

Your future manager is Jennie A Petersson. For me, a trust-based, responsible, and participatory leadership is important. The employees have high competence in our operations, and it is through working together that we succeed and become better. As a leader with me, you are trust-building, and I want you to drive the operations with commitment and courage. We have the coolest mission in the world and make a significant difference in society. You will be part of a management team with four other driven and skilled leaders and a competent staff - together we create the conditions and the right support for the Malmö residents who need us.

Qualifications

To be qualified for the position, you must have:

  • A degree in social work or another relevant higher education degree that the employer deems equivalent
  • Previous managerial experience or completed leadership development program/management's or Malmö city's internal leadership development program
  • Experience of authority exercise
  • Knowledge of legislation, current regulations, and guidelines, especially in the areas of SoL, LVM, and LVU
  • Several years of experience in social work
  • Experience in social change work
  • Good ability to express yourself both orally and in writing in Swedish

Meritorious for the assignment is that you have:

  • Experience in personnel, budget, and work environment responsibility
  • Knowledge of ASI and MI
  • Knowledge and/or experience of working with development, change, and quality in operations

As a person, we are looking for someone who is calm and secure in themselves and their leadership and has the ability to remain calm even in difficult situations. You have an easy time articulating where we are headed and place great importance on ensuring that the way forward is known. You listen and create conditions for participation and joint creation by delegating tasks and creating opportunities for people around you to grow. You take responsibility for your assignment and prioritize among tasks while creating a whole that includes a good balance between work and leisure. You are unpretentious, listen to others, contribute to building team spirit, are generous with feedback, and collaborate with employees and colleagues inside and outside the organization to achieve the best results.
