JOB DESCRIPTION

As a social worker with us, your tasks will vary depending on the area of focus. With a focus on investigation, you will primarily investigate the needs of children and adolescents. With a focus on follow-up, the emphasis will instead be on monitoring how placed children and youth are doing. Common to both areas of focus are contacts with relatives, schools, childcare, the region, police, and more. You work to ensure that children and adolescents in need of our services have the opportunity to develop based on their own conditions and receive support in their upbringing. Right now, we are particularly focusing on children and youth, with the goal that everyone who comes into contact with us should experience a good reception, high availability, and a fair processing.

We who are looking for new colleagues work in the Child and Youth Section, consisting of a unit manager, two deputy unit managers, six social workers, two reception secretaries, and three investigation administrators. The Child and Youth section also includes two foster care secretaries, two family law secretaries, one contact secretary, and one administrator. We work with children's needs in focus (BBIC) and collaborate with schools, family centers, and other authorities. Close cooperation with our own care resources leads to short decision-making paths with our outpatient care unit.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a degree in social work or another education deemed equivalent by the National Board of Health and Welfare. You express yourself well in both spoken and written Swedish and also have a B driver's license.

It is an advantage if you have previously worked with authority enforcement in social services for children and youth or have otherwise gained experience working with children's needs in focus (BBIC). Similarly, it is beneficial if you are well acquainted with the processing requirements and legislation that govern the operations and have good documentation skills. If you speak Finnish or other languages in addition to Swedish, it is an asset in this context.

As a social worker, you meet people in need of support or protection. Therefore, it is important for us that you as a person are calm, attentive, and show a good reception. You collaborate well, both internally and with other authorities, to facilitate for your client. The ability to make decisions based on available information and to demonstrate good judgment even under time pressure is important. You will also need to make uncomfortable decisions and argue for them, which requires strength and courage.
