We are currently looking for someone with expertise in electrical power for the unit of Supervision, Event Follow-up, and Technology. The unit currently consists of a unit manager and fifteen employees.
The unit is responsible for supervision and event follow-up, as well as assessment and investigation of facility changes for all nuclear facilities.
Main areas of responsibility include
- maintenance, analysis, construction, and technical issues
- facility changes (ABG)
- event follow-up nationally/ASK
- INES reporting
This includes responsibility for supervising issues related to safety systems in nuclear facilities, including electrical power and control systems.
Critical societal tasks
You will work proactively and preventively through supervision in the form of reviews, operational monitoring, and inspections.
We offer you a job where you, together with your colleagues, will have the opportunity to work with supervisory issues related to the electrical power supply to safety systems in nuclear facilities. This may involve construction, validation, and verification of electrical power equipment, as well as aging and maintenance issues.
You will also have the opportunity to take significant responsibility for the development of our supervision in electrical power. You are also expected to participate in or lead supervisory efforts regarding other supervisory areas when deemed appropriate for the operation. Internally, collaboration occurs across unit and departmental boundaries, as well as regular contact with license holders for various nuclear facilities.
You may also have the opportunity to participate in international and national forums within your area of expertise. Today, we have collaborations with, among others, OECD/NEA and IAEA. You may also be involved in issues related to new nuclear power and regulatory development as needed.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has:
- a scientific/technical higher education/university degree in a relevant field for the position or other qualified work experience that the authority considers appropriate for the position
- good knowledge of the construction of electrical power supply in safety-critical systems
- experience in maintenance and/or validation and verification of electrical power equipment
- knowledge of electrical power technical standards
- good ability to communicate in Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing
It is advantageous if you have experience in:
- the construction of electrical power supply to safety systems in nuclear facilities.
- knowledge in electrical system analysis, both static and dynamic
- knowledge of high voltage regulations
- control and regulation systems within the nuclear industry or other industries with high safety requirements
Personal qualities
The role of inspector involves many contact points and collaborations, which means you need to have good collaborative skills and the ability to communicate in a clear and constructive manner. Furthermore, you are self-driven and have good judgment, making correct assessments and priorities.

Employment conditions
The employment is a permanent position starting by agreement. The employment may begin with a six-month probationary period.
Some of our tasks are classified, which means that a security clearance with a background check according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) may be conducted before a decision on employment. For some of our classified tasks, Swedish citizenship is also required.
You may be part of the authority's crisis organization and may also be assigned to the authority in case of war. The crisis organization performs radiation protection assessments and nuclear technical analyses and collaborates with other relevant actors to manage radiological emergencies, including situations of heightened preparedness.
A fitness certificate for work with ionizing radiation is required for the position. Consideration will be given to any conflict of interest regulations and waiting periods.
