The Swedish Armed Forces is seeking 2 new technicians with a focus on communication systems in vehicles and cabins for the Armed Forces' Telecommunications and Information Systems Unit (FMTIS) in Falun.

The organization:
FMTIS has five units that perform maintenance of the Armed Forces' command systems within IT and telecommunications. The Implementation Unit Mitt is one of them. The units work with the maintenance of the Armed Forces' telecommunications network, radio, sensor, surveillance, and field systems. The work is mainly carried out in the Armed Forces' premises and facilities at the local site, but the job also includes travel to support other units across the country, and overnight stays at other locations may occur to some extent.

Main responsibilities:
The work mainly consists of preventive and corrective maintenance of the Armed Forces' mobile and stationary radio and communication systems. This includes everything from working with vehicle-mounted command systems to repairing and checking smaller electrical equipment. We ensure that the systems function by performing various measurements according to developed technical documentation/instructions and repairing equipment. The position involves a broad role with varying tasks as the section is under construction. As a technician with us, you will work both at the workbench and in the workshop, where the work can sometimes be physically demanding. The position may also involve participation in system support trips abroad.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High school education with a focus on IT/Tele/El/Technical Mechanics.
- Basic experience/knowledge of technical equipment.
- Good knowledge of Swedish and English.
- Driving license B

We are looking for someone with a strong technical/mechanical interest who places great importance on safety and quality. As a technician, you will work individually and together with colleagues, and we are looking for someone who works well in a team but can also take responsibility for individual work. You need to be practical and technically inclined, flexible and self-sufficient, driven, and engaged to thrive in the role of technician with us. We are looking for someone with a high safety awareness and good problem-solving skills. We also prefer someone who is service-oriented, open, and social. Great emphasis will be placed on your personal qualities and suitability, as well as your interest and understanding of technology and mechanics.
MERITS:
- Work experience in the field and knowledge of the Armed Forces' equipment.
- Experience in electromechanics
- Documented competence/experience within the Armed Forces' radio, command, and communication systems.
- Good knowledge in the area of tele/radio communication as well as computer technology/data communication and the ability to independently perform troubleshooting/repair on these types of systems.
- Previous experience with fiber installations and networks.
