Onsite Technician at the Swedish Transport Agency

We make society work for people on the road, on tracks, in the air, and at sea.

That’s why we need the best expertise. Our mission is important and makes a difference in everyday life – for both individuals and businesses. With us, we take responsibility, treat everyone well, and respect differences. As an employee, you contribute to a sustainable future.

About the job

What does an Onsite Technician at the Swedish Transport Agency do? It can mean that one day you are preparing new computers for users, and shortly after you are supporting and helping a user in a conference room where the conference equipment is not working. The next day may involve a planned trip to another office to assist our external supplier of multi-function printers while also checking that network switches are functioning at that office. A few weeks later, you might participate with colleagues for a few days in setting up workplaces because the operations have moved around in the premises. Many days also involve working with ongoing cases and supporting users via phone or on-site, which means we are always present. You will also be involved in developing our systems and services through collaboration with the section's service managers.

We have;

  • a division into geographical areas of responsibility
  • Onsite technicians at four different offices, totaling 8 in the group
  • our base in Örebro, called Digital Workplace, responsible for ensuring that the agency has functioning work tools, such as PCs, software, phones, subscriptions, and conference equipment. We are about 25 employees in the section.

You are important to us

Do you enjoy working together with others and want to develop in your professional role? With us, you can expect career development, a trusting leadership and employee relationship, and a sustainable work life. We are a secure employer who cares about your health with time for wellness during work hours, flexible working hours, a generous number of vacation days, and days off around holidays.

You will

  • carry out troubleshooting measures for IT and telephony-related issues, conference room equipment, support systems, basic applications, and underlying infrastructure
  • physically work with installations of equipment, including lifecycle management and recycling of conference room equipment
  • be local support for the services that the digital workplace delivers for users at the locations
  • travel according to a set plan of up to 30 days/year, usually one to three days in a row to the offices for which the technician is responsible.

You must have

  • a high school education in IT or equivalent knowledge that we assess as comparable
  • experience working with larger standardized client environments in a corporate setting based on Microsoft Windows OS, MS Office
  • experience managing hardware, networks, mobile devices, and peripherals such as multi-function printers, monitors/projectors, and headsets in a corporate environment
  • experience in troubleshooting within IT and telephony on-site or via phone in a corporate environment
  • the ability to communicate fluently in spoken and written Swedish
  • a valid driver’s license (B).

It is meritorious if you also have

  • current experience working with IT support within a public organization (e.g., government, regional, or municipal)
  • experience handling hand tools (e.g., screwdrivers, drills, etc.)
  • previous experience working with or installing physical equipment.

We want you to

  • take responsibility for your tasks, structure your approach, and drive your processes forward
  • be calm, attentive, and accommodating in your interactions, have the interest, willingness, and ability to help others, and strive to deliver solutions
  • have good collaboration skills, work well with others, relate to them in a responsive and smooth manner, listen, communicate, and be a good colleague
  • plan, organize, and prioritize work effectively, set and adhere to deadlines.

Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
