The Education and Labour Market Administration is now seeking an engaged vocational teacher for the Restaurant and Food Programme at Sturegymnasiet in Halmstad.

Do you want to help develop both teaching and the future of our students? As a vocational teacher in the Restaurant and Food Programme, you plan, conduct, and follow up on education that gives students the knowledge and skills required for further studies and work in the industry. You teach both theoretical and practical modules, including courses such as cooking, hygiene, service and customer care, food and nutrition knowledge, entrepreneurship, and industry knowledge.

You inspire and support students in their learning, monitor knowledge development, and adapt teaching based on students' needs. The role includes mentorship as well as collaboration with colleagues, guardians, and industry representatives. You work in teams and actively contribute to the school's development work and a secure, inclusive learning environment.

Your Qualifications

For this position, you must have:

• A vocational teacher degree with a focus on restaurants and food, or alternatively, other education that the employer deems equivalent.
• Documented professional experience from the restaurant or food industry.
• Good pedagogical skills and a genuine commitment to students' learning and development.
• Good ability to plan, organize, and adapt teaching based on students' different needs and conditions.
• Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.

The following are particularly meritorious:

• Teaching certification with eligibility to teach at the upper secondary level.
• Experience of teaching in upper secondary school or adult education.
• Experience of mentorship.
• Experience of working with workplace-based learning (APL) and collaboration with the industry.
• Knowledge of entrepreneurship and sustainable development related to the restaurant and food sector.

If you are offered employment within the upper secondary and adapted upper secondary schools at the Education and Labour Market Administration, you will need to present an extract from the Police's criminal record register for work in schools or preschools. The extract is free to order but may take up to 2–3 weeks for the Police to process. We therefore recommend that you order the extract well in advance.

Before employment, you need to show that you have the right to work, as required by the Aliens Ordinance. You do this by proving your citizenship within the EU/EEA or Switzerland with a passport, national ID card, or personal certificate together with an identity document. If you cannot do this, you need to present a work permit or show that you are exempt from the requirement for a work permit.

The position will be filled subject to necessary decisions being made.
