Malmö Restaurant School is looking for an APL Coordinator (Workplace-Based Learning Coordinator) for the Introduction Programme (IMY) with a vocational focus on restaurants and food. In this role, you will help create good conditions for workplace-based learning – an important part of the students' path to the future. The position is a project employment lasting until the end of the autumn term 2026.

Responsibilities

As an APL Coordinator, you play a key role in supporting and strengthening students before, during, and after their workplace-based learning. This is done in collaboration with the students' teachers and supervisors. You will participate in preparatory meetings, introductions at the APL site, and serve as ongoing support during the APL period. Through your role, you create good conditions for a safe and meaningful practicum for the students. You work primarily with students within the Introduction Programme (IMY) with a vocational focus on restaurants and food.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

• Completed and approved upper secondary education
• Several years of work experience in the restaurant and food industry
• Good digital competence
• Very good Swedish language skills, both spoken and written

To thrive and succeed in the role of APL Coordinator, you need to have a good understanding that students have different prerequisites for acquiring knowledge and be able to adapt your communication accordingly. The work requires you to be structured – you plan, organize, and prioritize your tasks effectively and adhere to set timeframes. You have an inclusive approach, show respect for people's differences, and treat everyone with attentiveness and care.

About the Workplace

Malmö Restaurant School is a vocational upper secondary school in central Malmö. Here, we educate students who see a future in the restaurant and food industry with its various specializations: cooking, catering, delicatessen, service, bakery, and charcuterie. The school offers national programs, introduction programs, as well as an adapted upper secondary school. We are not just a school; we also run two popular lunch restaurants and our own patisserie.
