Welcome to Sundsvall Municipality!
Sundsvall Municipality is one of the largest employers in Northern Sweden, with around 8,000 employees and over 300 professions. Together, we fulfill one of society's most important missions – creating utility and value for residents, businesses, and future generations. Regardless of the department, we work towards the same goal: to be a great place to live, work, and thrive.
We are currently in an exciting phase of development. We are a driving force in digital development and artificial intelligence, and together we are creating smart solutions for the people of Sundsvall today and in the future.
We are facing major transitions to meet citizens' needs in the long term – would you like to be part of this journey?
Within the Child and Education Administration, our approximately 3,000 employees meet with around 14,000 children and students at more than 100 preschools and schools across the municipality every day. Every child and student in Sundsvall's preschools and schools should be able to develop, learn, and reach their goals based on their own prerequisites. Every student should leave school with the desire, knowledge, and good conditions to face adult life and the future.
Your new workplace
SAGA is a central special education group for students with a need for extraordinary support measures. The activity supports students who need a combination of several special support measures and interventions, where support is needed for large parts of the school day. The goal of the activity is to provide support to students with extensive needs for special support in the learning environment, requiring specific competence, a smaller context, and more teacher support. With fewer students to relate to, extra clear structure, and extensive adult support from specially trained teachers to make education accessible for our students with the greatest needs.
How you contribute as a teacher
You will be part of a team. To thrive, you are development-oriented and use relational learning as a pedagogical tool. Basic requirements include pedagogical goal consciousness, a flexible approach to work, and creative collaboration. The team's mission is to develop the activity and their competence in dealing with students in difficulty. You and the team conduct teaching based on each student's need for special support and design an accessible learning environment together. You have the courage to challenge, change, and try new things after thorough discussions in the team. You collaborate closely with guardians and must have a good ability to participate in long processes in our work with the students. The work requires good pedagogical and social skills to create meetings and relationships with people. You need to be receptive, curious, and secure to be able to meet all students and different situations. The work involves collaboration with the students' home schools, child and adolescent psychiatry, social services, and the Swedish Special Educational Needs Supporters Association. Our aim is that every student will eventually return to regular teaching in primary school or develop a good foundation for future upper secondary studies.

Education: Teacher for intermediate school (grades 4–6) or grades 7–9.
Meritorious:

- Experience in planning and structuring, independently and in teams: Adapting teaching for each student.
- Interest in activities in different learning environments indoors and outdoors, such as outdoor life and physical activity.
You are well-versed in Lgr22 (the Swedish Curriculum for Compulsory School) and the Education Act. You possess an interest in and ability to believe in students' development potential – a salutogenic approach – with the goal of developing the student for the future. You need to have a special educational focus and experience that has given you the competence to work with students in need of special support, as well as the ability to handle various occurrences and events in the activity. You have experience using visual support. You have well-functioning pedagogical leadership in different learning environments and the competence to individually adapt interactions, teaching, and learning environments.
