Department 5 is a child and adolescent psychiatric ward with 6 beds and the entire County of Örebro as its catchment area. We admit children and adolescents with severe psychiatric conditions for acute inpatient care. At our facility, patients are treated together with their guardian(s), and the primary goal of the inpatient stay is to stabilize acute distress so that the patient can return home and continue their care in outpatient services. On Department 5, we work in a cohesive multidisciplinary team consisting of nurses, social workers, care assistants, doctors, teachers, and the unit manager. We actively engage in development work to address our mission in a safe and professional manner.
ResponsibilitiesThe responsibilities include psychiatric nursing, including relationship-building, supportive conversations, and motivational work. Medication management is one of the tasks, along with contact with relatives and collaboration with our outpatient care and other healthcare partners. As a nurse, you lead and distribute the work, and together with the rest of the team, you are responsible for ensuring that patients receive good care and a good recovery.
QualificationsWe are primarily seeking specialist nurses with a focus on psychiatry, but licensed nurses without a specialist degree are also welcome to apply.

About the OperationChild and adolescent psychiatry is part of specialized psychiatric care. The operation includes outpatient clinics, enhanced outpatient care, and a ward with acute services. A contact center for children and young people with mental health issues is also part of the operation, with the mandate to provide advice, make assessments, and triage/sort to the correct level of care. We provide treatment both individually and in groups, as well as planned and acute visits and telephone counseling. We also offer psycho-pedagogical treatment interventions for patients and relatives. Together, we are around 150 employees working with common processes and goals. We work in multidisciplinary teams based on a holistic view of the human being and adapt care interventions to the patient's needs and conditions. We work to promote the child's mental health and development as well as the involvement of relatives in care.
