Responsibilities

As a Medical Technology Coordinator, you are responsible for ensuring quality, structure, and competence regarding the use of medical technology products within the department. The role involves close collaboration with department managers, responsible physicians, the Medical Technology Department (MTD), and other medical technology coordinators in the area. You have a central role in coordinating, developing, and quality-assuring work with medical technology products, as well as ensuring that employees have the right knowledge and training for the safe use of equipment. The role includes, among other things:

• Ensuring quality assurance of the use and handling of medical technology products.
• Organizing and conducting introductions and walkthroughs of the department's medical technology equipment for newly hired employees.
• Coordinating the redistribution, new acquisition, and procurement of medical technology products in collaboration with the department manager, responsible physicians, unit managers, and deputy unit managers.
• Collaborating with medical technology coordinators in intensive care, postoperative units, and the MTD.
• Leading the department's medical technology group consisting of medical technology responsible persons from the anesthesia units.
• Serving as a super administrator in TILDA.
• Promoting a high level of competence in medical technology and contributing to units working based on common routines and methods.
• Planning, coordinating, and following up on medical technology training initiatives.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a specialist nurse with a focus on anesthesia care and have clinical experience in the field. You have a genuine interest in medical technology, patient safety, and quality development, as well as a good understanding of how medical technology equipment is used, maintained, and developed in clinical daily life.

It is an advantage if you have experience with:

• Medical technology education and competence development.
• Developing and implementing routines and guidelines.
• Quality and patient safety work.
• Working in or in close collaboration with the MTD.

To succeed in the role, you have a good ability to work both operationally and strategically. You thrive in a coordinating function with many contact points and have experience in planning, conducting, and following up on training initiatives.

About the Department

The Anesthesia and Intensive Care department operates at the region's three hospitals: Örebro University Hospital, Karlskoga Hospital, and Lindesberg Hospital. It is a large department with approximately 400 employees. Our work areas include anesthesia, intensive care, operating room services (post-op and day surgery), and a neuro-intermediary unit. At Karlskoga Hospital, there is an anesthesia department, an intensive care unit, and a postoperative unit.
