As an Automation Engineer, you will work with a team of 18 people. We are currently looking for an Automation Engineer for our evening shift based in Brunna, Kungsängen. Your closest colleagues are Team Leaders and automation support within the shift, and you will also collaborate closely with colleagues from the day and night shifts.
About the role
As an Automation Engineer, you play a central role in developing, optimizing, and ensuring stable operations of our automation systems and technical solutions. You work on analyzing and improving processes to create a safe, efficient, and reliable production environment.
In this role, you are responsible for technical improvements, troubleshooting, and the development of our automation systems in close collaboration with production, maintenance, and external suppliers. You analyze operational data, drive improvement initiatives, and ensure that work meets current requirements regarding safety, quality, and working environment.
The role is both operational and development-oriented. In addition to contributing specialist expertise in automation, you are part of daily operations and maintenance work. This means you actively participate in reactive maintenance, handle urgent machine stoppages, and support the team in daily tasks, while simultaneously driving technical improvements and long-term development.
Responsibilities
- Identify and propose improvements for machines, processes, and the working environment
- Troubleshoot technical issues and contribute to the development and optimization of maintenance strategies for automated systems
- Analyze downtime and technical deviations using KPIs and other operational data to identify root causes and prevent recurring faults
- Plan and perform preventive maintenance to ensure high operational reliability and minimize unplanned downtime
- Be an active part of daily maintenance work by handling urgent machine stoppages (jambusting), performing reactive maintenance, and supporting the maintenance team as needed
- Carry out more advanced maintenance tasks requiring specialist knowledge and experience
About you
You are analytical, solution-oriented, and structured, with a good ability to prioritize and drive your work forward. You are meticulous and have a proactive work style where you identify opportunities for improvement and work with continuous improvement to create a reliable and efficient operation. You collaborate easily and build good relationships while communicating clearly, both verbally and in writing. With a strong technical interest and a quality-conscious approach, you drive change and development work with safety, quality, and operational reliability in focus.
We believe you have
- A university degree or Master of Science in Engineering in automation, mechanical engineering, or other relevant technical education
- Experience working with automation systems, industrial production, or technical maintenance
- Knowledge in troubleshooting, process optimization, and improvement work
- Experience analyzing operational data and working with KPIs to develop processes
- Good proficiency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written
