About the Swedish Prison and Probation Service (Kriminalvården)
The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now looking for more employees. Our most important goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. If we succeed, society will become safer and more secure for everyone. We are the agency responsible for prisons, probation services, remand centers, and prisoner transport.
The position is located within the Technical Unit, which belongs to the Property Department. The unit consists of two sections: Technical Projects and Technical Asset Management. This recruitment is for the Section for Technical Asset Management.
The Section for Technical Asset Management has overall responsibility for the Prison and Probation Service's security technology as well as the budget linked to the area of technical asset management. The section is also responsible for ongoing management, including reinvestments, management plans, and smaller projects. You and an existing colleague will have specific responsibility for the Stockholm region while simultaneously being part of an asset management group with representatives from other regions within the Prison and Probation Service.
Job Description
As an Asset Manager, you are responsible for ensuring that technical requirements in projects and asset management correspond to the Security Department's requirements. This applies to all technical security systems, both in ongoing management, new constructions, renovations, and in larger installation projects.
The role involves determining investment needs, both short-term and long-term, at each facility. This is often done in close collaboration with local technicians. You are responsible for preparing necessary documentation for budgets and management plans, as well as carrying out the new and reinvestments required. Furthermore, the role includes defining requirements, leading smaller expansion contracts, and participating in inspections and follow-ups. You collaborate with other units and sections at Headquarters, as well as with regional and local coordinators linked to your region.
We have a nationwide service and support agreement with suppliers where you can receive support but also order materials and services. Business travel is part of the role, and local visits to prisons and remand centers in the region are common.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who is self-reliant and structured. You take great responsibility for your tasks and plan, prioritize, and organize your work efficiently. You can set and maintain timeframes and deadlines and drive your processes forward. Furthermore, you are goal- and result-oriented. In cases where goals change direction, you are flexible and adaptable. In your work, you easily create a holistic view of your tasks and you look at things from the perspective of the organization's best interests. Finally, you have strong collaboration skills. In your communication, you are both attentive and clear, and you easily relate to others.
For us, it is important that you share the Prison and Probation Service's fundamental values regarding a humane view of humanity, respect for the individual, and belief in human will and ability to develop. You are also aware of and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation affect yourself and others. Furthermore, you are expected to contribute through your attitude to ensure that everyone is treated equally. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
We are looking for you who have:
- An academic education in a relevant field for the position, or other education combined with experience that the Prison and Probation Service deems relevant
- Experience and overarching knowledge of at least three of the following areas and/or systems: Master alarm systems, CCTV systems, Portable panic buttons, Access control systems, Key control systems, Fire alarms, Key systems, Area alarms, Network/Server/storage
- Good ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish
- Valid driver's license (Category B)
The following is also meritorious:
- Experience with the Prison and Probation Service's operations
- Knowledge of procurement and reinvestment of security technology equipment
