About the role

As a Regulatory Engineer, you will act as a specialist and support function to the development teams (R&D) and contribute to ensuring that Axis Communications products meet global legal requirements, safety requirements, and certifications. The role combines technology, coordination, administration, and communication, with a focus on helping teams get it right from the start in the development process.

This is a 6-month consulting assignment via Academic Work, where you will be employed by Academic Work and work on behalf of Axis Communications in Lund. After your assignment with us, you will be directly hired by Axis.

Responsibilities

In the role of Regulatory Engineer, you will work closely with R&D teams and support them with issues related to global regulations, product requirements, and certifications. You will become an important part of ensuring that Axis products meet regulatory requirements throughout the entire product lifecycle – from design and development to launch.

  • Provide regulatory support to development teams regarding product requirements and certifications
  • Ensure that products are tested and verified according to current regulations and standards
  • Coordinate and manage contact with external test houses and laboratories
  • Administer certificates, technical documentation, and regulatory documentation
  • Answer questions regarding certifications and compliance from internal teams globally
  • Ensure regulatory compliance prior to product launches
  • Collaborate with several internal and external stakeholders in parallel projects
  • Interpret requirements and standards and support the organization in getting it right from the start

We are looking for you who

We are looking for you who have a technical interest and thrive in a role where you combine structure, coordination, and problem-solving. You do not need to be a specialist in a single area, but you have a good understanding of regulatory requirements related to electronic products and thrive in a supportive role close to development teams.

  • Engineering degree in electrical engineering or similar.
  • Fluent English in speech and writing.
  • Knowledge of Swedish or on your way to learning the language.
  • Good practical or theoretical knowledge of LVD, EMC, and RED
  • Good ability to interpret technical requirements, standards, and certification management
  • Understanding of requirements related to radio products and product compliance
  • Good coordination and communication skills with various stakeholders
  • Knowledge of administrative and documentation processes.
  • Good problem-solving skills and a structured approach to work

It is an advantage if you have

  • Experience with Bluetooth certification or global certifications.
  • Experience from electronics, consumer electronics, or test/lab environments
