When someone scans groceries at home, picks up their food box from a locker on their way home, or has dinner delivered to their door, it is functionality that you and your team have built. As a Frontend Lead in React Native, you combine hands-on development with overarching technical responsibility. This means you ensure the frontend perspective is included when new initiatives take shape, when important decisions are made, and when we build what ultimately becomes reality in the hands of hundreds of thousands of users.

This is what you will do for us

You have the technical leadership for our apps and work closely with frontend developers, backend developers, UX designers, QA specialists, architects, and Product Owners. About half of your time you develop yourself. The rest you spend driving technical issues, creating structure, and helping the team make well-considered decisions. For you, this means that you:

• Develop and further develop mobile functionality in React Native.
• Drive technical discussions and turn ideas into sustainable solutions.
• Collaborate closely with the backend team regarding APIs and integrations.
• Improve code quality, testing, performance, and security.
• Contribute to planning, estimation, and technical prioritization.

We are gradually building a dedicated backend-for-frontend layer, which gives you and the team the opportunity to influence how our apps and APIs interact in the long run.

Your team and workplace

You will become part of our e-commerce organization. Here we work close to the business and have significant influence over how our e-commerce-specific solutions are designed technically. Many initiatives are driven in collaboration with other parts of Axfood, but there is also room to influence, make your own decisions, and drive solutions forward. It shows in everyday life. If you see a better way to solve something, you often get the opportunity to influence both the choices and the implementation.

In the app team, you work together with frontend and backend developers, QA, UX, analysts, Product Owner, and Scrum Master. The team is small, experienced, and well-knit, with a shared pride in what we build. Many have chosen to stay for a long time, not just because the products are technically exciting, but because they enjoy the people they work with every day.

We work according to a hybrid policy and meet 3 days a week at the office near Torsplan in Stockholm.

About you

You are an experienced frontend developer with several years of experience in app development using React Native. We are looking for someone who already has a lead role, or who is the person others naturally turn to when technical decisions need to be made and things need to be driven forward. To succeed in the role, we believe you also:

• Have experience in technically complex environments with lots of functionality, in an agile environment with high tempo and great responsibility.
• Are accustomed to writing automated tests.
• Are accustomed to collaborating with other technical leaders (architects and tech leads) and to firmly and purposefully drive change.

Experience with e-commerce, React, or backend development is a plus. As a person, you are stable, humble, and proactive. You have good judgment, create structure, and drive change in a way that builds trust and makes others (both in tech and business) want to follow. You communicate clearly and build trust in your collaborations.
