The changed geopolitical situation means that our defense needs to be strengthened, and the increased intelligence activity targeting Sweden and the Swedish Armed Forces is extensive. The Military Intelligence and Security Service (Must) conducts defense intelligence activities and military intelligence and security service to support Swedish foreign, defense, and security policy, as well as mapping external threats against Sweden.

Main Responsibilities

As an IT Technician with us, you work in a broad and varied role where you are responsible for both the daily operations and the long-term development of our IT environments. You work with operational technology, mobile equipment for both personnel and vehicles, as well as the systems and applications that the business relies on in its daily work. You work closely with the business and end-users, which requires you to translate business needs into stable, secure, and efficient technical solutions. You will work through the entire IT infrastructure: from networks and servers to clients, applications, and operational technology, following solutions through their entire lifecycle, from installation and configuration to operation, maintenance, and support.

Examples of tasks:

• Manage, develop, and optimize existing IT systems and technical environments.
• Responsible for operation, maintenance, and administration of standalone IT environments, including patching, updates, and server administration.
• Install, configure, and implement hardware, client equipment, and applications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve incidents within hardware, software, networks, and operational technology.
• Provide technical support and guidance to the business's users.
• Participate in the introduction of new technical solutions and contribute to the development of existing infrastructure.
• Follow technological development and actively contribute with improvement proposals, new working methods, and modern technical solutions.

The work is varied and developmental in a business where technology is constantly changing. Therefore, competence development and environmental monitoring are a natural part of the role.

About the Unit

The Security Intelligence Division works to indicate, clarify, and counteract security-threatening activities, as well as conducting defense intelligence activities related to security-threatening actors. The Section for Technical Collection is responsible for technical area expertise in security intelligence operations and investigations.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of work experience in IT, with server or network operations
• Experience with automation
• Very good experience with Linux
• Experience with virtualization solutions
• Experience with backup solutions
• Work with standalone hardened technical environments
• Driver's license class B

Meritorious

• Experience of working within the Swedish Armed Forces
• Experience of administering different types of databases
• Work with large data flows

The qualifications stated above must be verifiable upon request through certificates, references, and work or selection tests.

Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.

• Employment type: Permanent employment starting with a six-month probation period

• Travel and other duty locations in the Mälaren Valley region occur. National and international travel occurs.
