About Us

Central Child Health Care (CBHV) is part of Child and Adolescent Health and Specialist Care within Regionhälsan. The operation is regional and works for accessible, equitable, and high-quality child health care in the Region of Västra Götaland. The department is responsible for monitoring and disseminating current knowledge, driving method development, planning and conducting further education, and participating in regional and national networks. Central Child Health Care is also responsible for monitoring the operations of all over 200 Child Health Centers (BVC) in the region. Central Child Health Care has approximately 25 employees based in Skövde, Vänersborg, Gothenburg, and Borås. The staff includes specialist nurses as developers, child health care physicians, psychologists, dietitians, administrators, and speech therapists.

About the Role

As a speech therapist at CBHV, you are a vital part of the knowledge support for all personnel within child health care. Your main focus is communication, language, and speech, as well as eating and eating difficulties in children. You collaborate with other professional groups in the team to optimize health-promoting and preventive work within child health care.

The role involves ensuring that child health care is conducted based on science and proven experience in accordance with national programs, regulations, and action plans. The speech therapist has an advisory, educational, and consultative function for all child health care personnel. The speech therapist develops routines to identify speech, language, and communication difficulties and contributes to the development of child health care interventions. From a public health perspective, collaboration with other actors in the municipality and region, such as family centers, preschools, and libraries, is included.

Follow-up, collection, analysis, and reporting of statistics is an important part of Central Child Health Care's mission and aims to ensure that children and families receive the child health care they are entitled to. The work includes conducting and participating in development and research projects related to child health care.

During the autumn, you will primarily work with further education for child health care personnel, provide support in speech therapy questions to the rest of the CBHV team, and collaborate with key actors such as the speech therapy unit at the primary care level. Gradually, you will also get to participate in and lead various types of development work.

About You

You are a licensed speech therapist with experience working with children who have speech, language, and communication difficulties. Experience working with children who have eating difficulties is desirable. Previous collaboration with child health care is meritorious, as is experience in development work focusing on preschool-aged children. Knowledge of neuropsychiatric issues and team-based work with young children is also meritorious.

You have good ability to express yourself in speech and writing. You can structure your time and enjoy working independently, but are accustomed to collaborating and anchoring decisions. You have good pedagogical skills and experience in educating and supervising others. Digital tools and solutions are second nature. You are expected to participate actively and curiously in the change work underway at the unit. Personal suitability is highly valued.

Conditions

The position is fixed-term until June 2027, starting immediately, with a work time of 50-100%.

You will work across the entire Region of Västra Götaland, and the placement will be at one of our four distribution points in Borås, Skövde, Gothenburg, or Vänersborg.

Interviews will take place in Gothenburg on the afternoon of August 20th and the morning of August 21st. Selection will be ongoing during the application period.

Salary: Monthly salary, individual salary setting.
