Medical Secretary at Gimo Primary Care Centre

Our 1,800 employees work with close-to-home care and health in Uppsala County. We offer a wide range of services within primary care. Our patients meet us at Region Uppsala's own primary care centres or within habilitation services, and we provide advice by phone via 1177. Education, research, and development are important to us as we tailor our offerings based on the needs of the residents. We already offer mobile teams, video visits, and smart e-services.

Welcome to Gimo Primary Care Centre with subsidiaries! We are now looking for a Medical Secretary to join our team. We offer a permanent position at 90% with a start date to be agreed upon.

At our centre, we work based on our core values – Respectful, Engaged, Knowledgeable, and Caring – and we strive every day to create a safe and professional environment for both patients and employees.

Your Role

As a Medical Secretary with us, you will have a varied and meaningful role where you are a key person in the operations. You will spend about half of your time writing medical records and ensuring high quality in documentation. The other part of your working hours involves meeting our patients in the reception – you become our face and contribute to a warm, respectful, and professional reception. Here, you make a real difference in the patient's first impression of the care.

In addition to this work, you perform important administrative functions such as:

  • Working with the HSA catalog
  • Heroma administration
  • Invoice management
  • IT support
  • Other administrative tasks that contribute to the smooth operation of the business.

You will become part of a larger context within primary care where collaboration between primary care centres takes place, including regarding dictation transcriptions. We also offer regular joint training days to strengthen your competence and development. With us, you will work in an environment where we are engaged in our mission, knowledgeable in our profession, and always caring in our meetings with both patients and colleagues.

Your Competence

We are looking for you who are trained as a Medical Secretary and want to contribute to a business where quality and reception are in focus, with experience in appointment administration. You have worked as a Medical Secretary for at least one year within primary care. As a person, you are meticulous, structured, and methodical, self-initiating, flexible, and adaptable to change. Great importance is placed on personal suitability.

You have a good ability to prioritize and thrive in a role where tasks vary. To thrive with us, it is important that you appreciate meeting people and want to provide high-quality service. You treat both patients and colleagues in a respectful and caring manner, and you actively contribute to good cooperation and a positive work environment.

Our Operations

Gimo Primary Care Centre with the subsidiaries Alunda and Österbybruk has approximately 12,000 registered patients and about 60 employees. We have a great interest in education and research, not least for our own staff. This is highly appreciated by both the nursing and medical staff. With us, flexibility, interest in development, and providing good service to residents are highly valued. All professional areas within the primary care centre's mission are represented, and we also have a youth clinic. For you, there are great opportunities to help shape the operations and take responsibility for certain assignments or areas of activity.

Gimo Primary Care Centre is centrally located in Gimo, 50 km northeast of Uppsala. The Alunda DSK clinic has started construction for a completely new primary care centre. It is 40 km from Uppsala. Österbybruk Primary Care Centre is a small, family-oriented centre located 50 km northeast of Uppsala. From Gimo, you are 17 minutes, approx. 20 km by car to the sea and Östhammar. There are good commuting opportunities to our primary care centres by bus and car.

Region Uppsala values the qualities that equal gender distribution and diversity bring to the operations and welcomes applicants of all genders and with different birth backgrounds, functionalities, and life experiences. Region Uppsala mobilizes all permanent staff based on the needs of the total defence. This entails no obligations for the individual employee in peacetime but is solely a planning measure. Prior to decisions on employment, checks of suspicion and criminal records are conducted for all job seekers who, in the sought position, may come to work within psychiatric care, habilitation, care of children and youth, or involuntary care of addicts, areas covered by optional record extracts. This thus applies to all who will work close to patients, even if the tasks currently are not intended to mainly involve work with the aforementioned patient groups. This recruitment is conducted entirely through Region Uppsala, and we decline phone calls from recruitment agencies and advertising sales.
