Psychiatric Clinic Tranås
Are you a social worker with experience in psychiatric care and family therapy? There is now an opportunity to be part of our pilot project focused on the family, where we are developing future support for relatives of young people within psychiatry.
The Role of Family Educator
The role of Family Educator involves supporting and guiding children and young people who have one or more relatives in psychiatric care. Your intervention is based on the family as a whole, and you have an educational role with the aim of providing them with tools to handle their situation. Examples of work methods include training and consultative counseling with families in collaboration with other professions. The role may also involve specific training and supervision for staff, depending on competence in areas such as the Beardslee family intervention.
This is a full-time project position for 2 years. Working hours are generally during daytime on weekdays, but adjustments to meet operational needs may require work outside standard office hours. Start date is by agreement.
Your Future Workplace
At the Psychiatric Clinic Höglandet, we have approximately 190 employees. For us, it is important to always keep the patient in focus. We create trust and good conditions for efficient, high-quality specialist psychiatric care through a holistic approach and continuity in the care chain. In our work, we meet patients in the municipalities of Aneby, Eksjö, Nässjö, Tranås, Sävsjö, and Vetlanda. The clinic's resources are distributed to take into account both the clinic perspective and county-wide psychiatric care processes. We participate in the development and implementation of joint care programs and psychiatric care processes in the region. The position in question is at our psychiatric clinic in Tranås. Here, we are 17 employees in a competent staff group working in a team-based manner. We have a well-functioning team consisting of care administrators, specialist doctors, specialist nurses, social workers, occupational therapists, and psychologists/psychotherapists, all with several years of clinical experience in psychiatric work. We have two physiotherapists within primary care who work targeted towards our patient groups, and we regularly have employees here who are completing their AT/ST/PTP as well as students to build long-term capacity. The clinic has a well-established collaboration with both primary care and the municipality. We believe in clear leadership where work environment, competence, and evidence are key words. We are part of research projects and contribute to the development of psychiatric care.
Your Profile
We are looking for you who have an academic degree as a social worker. We want you to have a few years of experience working in your profession. Other experience in supporting and meeting children and families with mental illness/illness is meritorious. Since the work largely involves contact with children and young people, we want you to have good knowledge of the Swedish language. Travel is common in the role, and therefore it is a requirement that you have a B-driver's license.
To thrive in the role, you should be secure in yourself, grounded, and have good self-insight. You work effectively independently and take responsibility for your work, but also enjoy collaborating with others. In meetings with others, you listen and adapt your way of communicating based on the recipient's conditions.
Regarding your role, it is important that you understand the project and its value, but also see the big picture and the role you play in it. For the project, it is important that you see the value of all parts in the process from planning and implementation to evaluation and development. When appointing the role, great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
