The mission of the Education and Labour Market Administration is to increase individuals' opportunities to find employment and become self-sufficient through education, internships, and work.

The administration's finance department is a crucial part of this mission, responsible for analyzing, planning, and monitoring resources. The finance department handles budgeting, accounting, follow-up, and reporting, including annual financial statements. Part of the role involves managing the municipality's financial assistance and the combined offerings of upper secondary and adult education. We are now looking for a driven accountant who will primarily work with adult education.

Your Responsibilities

In the role of accountant, you will work both close to operations and individually, as well as on a more administration-wide level for certain issues and processes. You serve as the economic partner for the operations in financial matters, preparing decision support materials and acting as a support in decision-making processes.

Here, you work independently to maintain control over the overall economy of the operations you support. You are given freedom under responsibility and are expected to contribute to efficient financial processes and the finance function as a whole through your participatory and responsible approach.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Budgeting
• Follow-up with reporting and annual financial statement forecasts
• Statistics and key performance indicators (KPIs)
• Analysis and investigations

You will be part of the finance department, which provides general support to the administration, and a smaller team specialized in adult education.

Your Qualifications

Required for the position:

• Bachelor's degree in economics or other education deemed equivalent by the employer
• 3–5 years of experience in financial work
• Experience working in financial systems, preferably Unit4
• Very good skills in Excel
• Interest in system solutions in general and good knowledge of MS Office
• Ability to see the big picture and analyze complex information
• Good command of Swedish, both spoken and written

Meritorious qualifications include:

• Good familiarity and understanding of other systems and their structure, preferably database management
• Experience working within a larger organization, preferably in a municipal operation
• Experience from labor market or adult education operations

Personal Competencies

In the role of accountant, collaboration is central, as you work close to operations as an economic partner and, together with managers and colleagues, prepare budgets, forecasts, and decision support materials. Through transparent communication, you convey financial data, analyses, and follow-ups in a clear and understandable way. The role requires strong problem-solving skills, where you independently analyze deviations, generate statistics, and conduct investigations that contribute to efficient financial processes. To succeed, you need to work in a planning and structured manner, have a good overview of the operations' finances, and ensure order, quality, and foresight in budgeting, follow-up, forecasting, and annual financial statements.
