About the role
Day Care Cancer is responsible for the care of patients before and after outpatient examinations as well as day surgery procedures. The unit is also responsible for preparing patients for surgery within the framework of the check-in service. This means that patients are prepared for their surgery at Day Care Cancer and are then transferred to their inpatient ward after the surgery has been performed.
As a nurse, you work with preoperative preparations, postoperative care in connection with day surgery procedures, and care before and after various examinations. The tasks include, among other things, caring for patients undergoing biopsies, pleural taps, ascites taps, blood transfusions, examinations under anesthesia, as well as PEG and nephrostomy insertions.
The role involves varied work with a strong focus on the patient, where you meet patients during shorter care stays. The work is characterized by close collaboration with colleagues and a genuine interest in surgical and oncological nursing.
The day care unit is open between 06:40 and 20:30 Monday to Thursday, and between 06:40 and 19:00 on Fridays. The unit is closed on weekends and public holidays.

Qualifications
Requirements:
- Swedish nursing license.
- At least 2 years of experience as a nurse.
Merits:
- Specialist education in a relevant area.
- Experience in inpatient care.
- Experience with oncological and surgical patients.
- Experience in improvement work within surgical and oncological care.
