About the position
Welcome to Olaus Petriskolan 7-9! We are currently offering the opportunity to work with us as a Science teacher. We are looking for an engaged and flexible teacher who wants to work at a large and attractive secondary school in the city center. As a secondary school teacher, you will teach adolescents in their early teens, and mentoring a class in grade 9 is part of the role. Building relationships with students is a crucial part of the pedagogical work, aimed at establishing trust and a safe environment both inside and outside the classroom.
You will be part of a well-functioning team with extensive experience that collaborates and supports each other every day. You are expected to contribute to the team's development by actively participating in conferences and the group's competence development.
Examples of duties:
- Teach Science subjects.
- Plan, implement, and evaluate pedagogical teaching in collaboration with other staff.
- Support students' social development.
- Mentor a class.
- Work together with other educators to develop the school and increase goal achievement.
- Work cross-disciplinary with others.
About the workplace
Olaus Petriskolan is a school for grades F-9 located centrally in Örebro. Grades F-6 are located on the north side, and grades 7-9 are in the city center near Oskarsparken. The secondary school has approximately 500 students distributed across 6 work teams. The work teams are responsible for clearly defined student groups. We offer three unique profiles: culture, sports and health, and maker space. In close collaboration with the Municipal School of Music and Drama, we work across subject boundaries, allowing visual arts, music, and theater to contribute to all students' learning when working on cross-disciplinary thematic areas.
Since the 2015/2016 academic year, Olaus Petriskolan has been a Training School, a collaboration with the teacher education program at Örebro University.

We are jointly responsible for contributing to equal opportunities for young people in Örebro and laying the foundation for learning that extends throughout life. With trust and courage, we build our preschools and schools together. We take on the challenges of the future, for the best of every child.
