Special Educator for Spängerskolan in Kristianstad

Spängerskolan is a comprehensive school (grades F-9) with an attached leisure center, located approximately 20 km north of Kristianstad city center. The school is surrounded by forests and nature, providing a calm and inspiring environment. We have a well-composed student health team consisting of a school nurse, counselor, special needs educator, special educator, and principal, along with a school psychologist attached to the team.

We work based on the principle of "Successful Teaching." The school's pedagogical development group, led by the principals, drives a structured and organized collegial learning process based on research and evidence-based learning.

Your Role With Us

As a special educator, you work with advanced knowledge in either literacy, writing, and language development or mathematics development, with a focus on the individual level. You use special pedagogical methods to plan, prepare, and conduct teaching, as well as to support students based on their specific needs and difficulties.

Your tasks include conducting and documenting screenings, investigations, and various forms of pedagogical tests. The goal is to increase the understanding of the student's difficulties in schoolwork. You also contribute your expertise to the work on pedagogical investigations, adaptations, and action plans. It is important that you actively work to remove barriers in the learning environment, develop alternative learning environments, and learning tools. Questions regarding inclusion and core values are a natural part of your daily routine.

You build relationships, both internally and externally, characterized by mutual respect and trust. You meet students where they are and serve as a qualified conversation partner regarding children's and students' language or mathematics development, both in team work and within the student health team.

You meet students with high expectations, engaging, inspiring, and stimulating them towards learning and personal responsibility. By leading and organizing the work, you create a safe learning environment based on respect and cooperation. You systematically reflect on and evaluate your practical work, both individually and in groups, and take responsibility for your own time and professional development.

Who Are We Looking For?

You have a teaching license with eligibility to teach as a special educator with a focus on special support in grades 4–9 of the compulsory school. We prefer that you also have eligibility to teach Swedish, mathematics, English, or Natural Sciences in grades 4–9. We are looking for someone with at least three years of well-regarded experience in teaching within the school system, preferably from grades 4–9.

You have the ability to translate the organization's mission regarding students in need of special support and can adapt working methods to the conditions of different groups and individuals. You are familiar with the ethical principles for teachers and stay updated on current pedagogical and didactic research.

You can translate your advanced knowledge of language or mathematics development into daily work and have good knowledge of working according to current regulatory documents. Your leadership is situational and based on understanding the students' situations and values.

Good knowledge of alternative learning tools is required, as well as the ability to handle digital compensatory tools and integrate them into teaching. You are accustomed to using digital technology as a tool in your daily work and have good skills in planning, prioritizing, and documenting structured work with high quality.

To process your application, please attach your degree certificate and a copy of your teaching license. If no eligible licensed teachers are available, you may be employed on a fixed-term basis according to the Education Act. Employment requires an extract from the criminal record, in accordance with Chapter 2, Sections 31–33 of the Education Act.
