Ystad is the small city with big opportunities. Here you will find unique nature experiences, a living history, a dynamic cultural life, and a variety of leisure activities. We also have a vibrant business community operating both locally and globally.

In the Municipality of Ystad, we are approximately 2,900 dedicated employees who contribute and make a difference. Together, we create a better everyday life for our residents, businesses, organizations, and visitors, now and in the future.

Leadership is important to us, which is why all managers are trained in developmental leadership. We offer you a secure employment where you make a meaningful contribution to society. Here you will also find many career opportunities in an organization that is constantly developing.

We stand firmly on our core values, which are – Better Together – characterized by courage, trust, participation, and professionalism.

The Education Department is responsible for preschool, primary school, after-school centers, upper secondary school, adult education, as well as child and student health services. Here, approximately 1,100 employees work together to create a safe and developmental school and childcare environment.

Today, approximately 250 fantastic students attend Källan School, coming from diverse cultural and social backgrounds, a diversity that enriches our everyday lives. Trusting relationships and learning are in focus as we work together to be a school where both students and adults thrive and develop.

Responsibilities

Together with your colleagues, you are responsible for the planning, implementation, reflection, and evaluation of the after-school activities. You offer stimulating and challenging teaching that contributes to the students' development, learning, and goal achievement, while giving them a meaningful and fun after-school time.

The role also involves complementing the pedagogical activities in the classroom; i.e., you collaborate with teachers and conduct teaching during the students' school day. Together with your work team, you create good learning environments and opportunities for creative learning. Through a creative, problem-solving, and exploratory approach where play and movement are a natural part of teaching, you give students the opportunity to learn in the best way possible.

You are well grounded in current regulatory documents and are responsible for ensuring the school works towards established goals and for the forward development of pedagogy. The assignment also includes promoting diverse contacts, social cohesion, and strengthening group relations. Like other colleagues, you are an active recess supervisor and eat pedagogically a few days a week.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who:

  • Are a trained teacher for after-school centers.
  • Are familiar with the regulatory documents for after-school centers and have the ability to translate these into practice.
  • Are flexible and have good collaboration skills.
  • Easily create good relationships and collaborate with students, guardians, the work team, the school's student health team, and school leadership.
  • Are a clear leader with good didactic skills and structured teaching.

To thrive in this role with us, we believe you are creative and development-oriented, see the needs of each individual student, and have a ready access to joy and laughter. You are calm and confident in yourself and enjoy creating a good collaboration climate with students, employees, and parents. You thrive best when working in a team with others. You like to think in new pedagogical paths and discuss solutions in a non-hierarchical manner with other staff based on the student's needs.

We Offer
