Your Assignment

You will belong to the Technology Department, where you will work with some of the agency's most important systems for collecting over-the-air signals.

As an Algorithm Developer, you will be part of a team developing software within the field of digital signal processing and decoding technology. Implementation is primarily done in C/C++ and Python. The work is characterized by interpreting incomplete data, where we build knowledge from a constant flow of new information from reality. You contribute to continuous improvement through follow-up and analysis of deficiencies and opportunities.

Your team, consisting of a handful of people, works very closely together and has overall responsibility for a set of systems. This provides good opportunities for both specialization and broadening of skills. We prioritize collaboration and a holistic perspective over rigid boundaries. Since we have full responsibility for our self-developed systems, we can also explore and realize our own ideas for moving the operations forward.

Travel may occur in the position.

What You Can Do

We are looking for you who have:

• A Master's degree in Technical Physics, Electrical Engineering, or Mathematics, or equivalent knowledge in mathematical subjects through other education or several years of work experience in the field.
• Good knowledge of programming in a high-level language.
• Good proficiency in Swedish and English.

We consider it meritorious if you have:

• Experience or education in digital signal processing.
• Knowledge in abstract algebra or coding theory.
• Knowledge in machine learning.
• Knowledge in radio communications.
• Several years of experience programming in C/C++.
• Experience programming in Matlab.
• A PhD in a relevant field.
• Experience with Linux-based development environments.
• Experience with agile working methods such as Scrum or SAFe.

The workplace is located near Drottningholm, approx. 10 minutes from Brommaplan. Swedish citizenship is a requirement as employment at FRA involves placement in a security classification. Before employment, you will undergo a security check in accordance with the provisions of the Security Protection Act. Employment includes an obligation to be war-placed.
