Do you want to make a societal impact and contribute to Sweden's independence in the world? We are looking for you who are sharp and technically interested, and who want to develop and become constantly better. You are always hungry for new knowledge and want to use your precious time to make Sweden safer. At FRA, we work with unique tasks – for Sweden's security and integrity.
Your Mission
In the role of Software Engineer, you develop and maintain solutions that handle large amounts of data and extract and refine the relevant parts for subsequent systems for use in the organization's intelligence production and cybersecurity work. The world is changing, and so are the data needed in our work to protect our democracy. Therefore, continuous development takes place as new requirements arise.
You will be part of a team with overall responsibility for its systems. The team works agilely with development and operations, with great responsibility and mandate in the daily work in collaboration with strategic management based on the organization's needs and priorities. The team has close cooperation with other parts within the production of intelligence information, both with end users (analysts) and other technical teams.
In the team, you are responsible for building completely new production environments and capabilities, but also for maintaining and automating existing products. The systems are a mix of open source, in-house developed, and external products. You participate in design, architecture choices, implementation, testing, deployment, maintenance, and decommissioning/migration of these products, i.e., the entire lifecycle.
The team is part of a unit with two teams that focus mainly on system development/capability development and system integration against platforms/networks, respectively, for systems that handle large amounts of data for intelligence production and cybersecurity work. The role of Software Engineer can be placed in either of the two teams, depending on knowledge, experience, and interest.
We always strive for our employees to thrive and develop. We see this as a prerequisite for the team's efficiency. In the team, we encourage creativity and new thinking. We have depth and breadth in competence, and the cooperation in the group is strong. Through education, conferences, and our own environmental monitoring, we keep up to date with the latest technology. Together we evaluate and share insights.
