Do you want to lead the development of future social services? As the Head of Social Services in Avesta, you will have a strategic assignment with the opportunity to influence both operations, people, and societal development.

Social services is one of three result units within the Care Administration and includes individual and family care, work and employment, as well as LSS with day activities.

About the role

With the needs of individuals in focus, you plan, lead, and develop the operations based on legislation, political goals, and other governing documents. You have the overall responsibility for the result unit's economy, which means budget responsibility with planning, follow-up, and reporting. You are also ultimately responsible for personnel, working environment, and operational quality on an overarching level.

You are responsible for two management groups with a total of 10 unit managers. Through trust-based leadership, you create the conditions for your managers to lead and develop their operations. The assignment also includes driving development and change work, ensuring a legally secure operation, and contributing to a long-term sustainable social services. In the role, you have close support from an administration economist, business strategist, recruiter, and the specialist functions MAS, MAR, and SAS. As support in your managerial assignment, there is also an HR consultant.

You are part of the Care Administration's management group, where together with two other result unit managers and the rest of the administration leadership, you contribute to the development of the entire administration.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a relevant higher education or university degree, as well as many years of experience in leadership within one or more of the operational areas included in the assignment. You have previous managerial experience within one or similar areas as the position concerns.

You have good knowledge of the social services' assignment, legislation, and authority exercise, as well as experience in leading operations with responsibility for economy, personnel, working environment, and quality development. You are accustomed to driving development and change work and have an understanding of how quality, working environment, and economy interact to create a sustainable operation.

Furthermore, you have experience working in a politically governed organization and a good understanding of the interplay between politics and administration. You have the ability to collaborate, both internally and externally, and express yourself well in Swedish, both in speech and writing. The role also requires good digital competence and habit of working with follow-up, analysis, and operational data.

It is meritorious if you have experience from several of the operational areas within social services, manager-of-managers responsibility, and strategic management group work.
