Strukton Rail - Borlänge

Did you know that Strukton Rail is one of Sweden's largest privately owned railway contractors? Do you want to develop long-term profitable businesses, lead a large organization, and at the same time contribute to a robust infrastructure in southern and central Sweden? Then the role of Works Manager for the Railways in Bergslagen could be your next step.

Together, we are developing a sustainable railway for a sustainable society.

About the role

Strukton Rail's maintenance operations in Bergslagen cover one of our most complex and challenging contracts. We are now looking for a driven and business-minded Works Manager who wants to take overall responsibility for the contract while leading an organization of approximately 80 people.

This is a role for you who thrives in an environment where a lot is happening, where business is central, and where you have the opportunity to make a real difference.

Your responsibilities

As Works Manager, you have overall responsibility for the contract in accordance with Strukton's business strategy, processes, and core values RÄLS (Respect, Honesty, Trust, Safety). You report directly to Business Manager Mats Bylund.

Production is driven operationally by the Site Manager with the help of foremen and technicians, while you as Works Manager are responsible for the business: economy, contracts, customer dialogue, strategic decisions, and long-term development.

The role includes among other things:

  • Exercise active leadership for the entire organization
  • Ensure working environment, quality, environment, and safety
  • Prepare budgets, business plans, and forecasts
  • Actively work with recruitment to reduce dependence on hired personnel
  • Build a culture characterized by responsibility, engagement, and clarity

What we offer

In the Maintenance business area, you will become part of a competent and engaged leadership team that is passionate about business, technology, and people. We believe in your abilities and we learn from each other.

You will get:

  • A central role with significant authority and the opportunity to influence
  • Flexibility and understanding for work-life balance
  • Benefits portal with discounts, wellness allowances, and pension counseling
  • Permanent employment with good development opportunities
  • A culture where we have fun together and where we build something that lasts over time

Together we make Strukton dynamic - and fun.

We are looking for you who have

  • University education in engineering, economics, leadership - or equivalent experience
  • 5-10 years of experience from a similar role within the contracting industry
  • Experience of large and complex contracts with public clients
  • Good understanding of contracting law and contract issues
  • Experience of working environment, quality, environment, and safety work
  • Documented habit of driving business and building long-term customer relationships

Your profile

You are a brave, engaged, and communicative leader who acts as a role model. You lead through others, create structure, and follow up on goals with clarity and integrity. You have a stable and confident demeanor, but are also creative and solution-oriented.

Where others see problems, you see opportunities.

You are accustomed to negotiations and feel confident in business dialogues and public procurement. You have a good understanding of contracting law and know how it affects business - you do not need to be a specialist, but you know when you need to delve deeper or seek support.

Since the work takes place in track environments, a approved health examination for security service is required before employment.

Application

Selection and interviews will begin in August, but we would appreciate it if you applied as soon as possible. The position may be filled before the last application date.

In this recruitment, Strukton Rail collaborates with Jefferson Wells. For questions, contact the responsible recruitment consultant Mattias Sahlström, [email protected]

We look forward to receiving your application!

Open to all

We focus on your competence, not your other prerequisites. We are open to adapting the role or workplace to your needs.
