About the Department

IVA Falun is a general intensive care unit with 8 beds, handling a flow of 800–900 patients per year. There are approximately 90 employees at IVA, including registered nurses and assistant nurses. IVA is part of the OpAnIVA Clinic, which has over 350 employees. We care for patients from all clinics, both children and adults.

Responsibilities

Do you want to help shape the leadership of the future?

We are seeking a first-line manager who wants to take on an exciting assignment in a shared leadership role. Together, you will have the opportunity to lead, develop, and create engagement in a department where collaboration and dialogue are key to success.

As a first-line manager, you, together with your two managerial colleagues, are the direct supervisor for approximately 90 employees. You have overall responsibility for personnel, working environment, and economy, and report directly to the Department Manager. You are part of the OpAnIVA Clinic’s management group, where, together with the Department Manager and other managers, you drive development forward and create care that is constantly improving for our patients in a good working environment. You work closely with the Medical Director (MLA) in shaping operations, as well as actively and transparently handling deviations and improvement proposals. Support functions such as care developers and coordinators for patient safety and medical technology are also available. On the clinic, we support each other in our various assignments and work together for the entire operation.

Through present and active leadership, you develop employees and create conditions for good performance and results. A shared leadership model means joint decisions, close collaboration, and leadership based on trust and complementary competencies.

We are looking for someone who is secure in their role and can create a positive work climate. Your communication is characterized by clarity combined with humanity and warmth.

The position is a 3-year appointment as a first-line manager, with a permanent employment contract as a registered nurse.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Clinical work as a nurse for at least 5 years
  • The position may involve travel, so a valid driver’s license (Category B) is required

Merits:

  • Further education in anesthesia or intensive care
  • Completed management and/or leadership training
  • Experience in a leadership position within Healthcare
  • Completed working environment training
  • Experience in clinical work within surgery, anesthesia, or intensive care

You are development-oriented and solution-focused, with the ability to both initiate and drive change and improvement work. At the same time, you understand the need to operate within a structured organization and can balance innovation with respect for established frameworks and processes.

A central part of your leadership is to create a good and sustainable working environment where job satisfaction, patient safety, and quality are in focus. You act as a stable pillar in working environment work and have the ability to lead and distribute work in a professional and trustworthy manner. In this role, good collaboration skills are crucial, not least in a shared leadership model where dialogue, cooperation, and shared responsibility are keys to success.
