The Support and Care Section within the Care Administration is responsible for support and care for people with intellectual disabilities according to the Social Services Act (SoL) as well as measures according to the Act on Support and Service for Certain Disability Groups (LSS). The operations include, among other things, supported housing, day activities, special housing, day activities, and short-term stays.

Short-term stays according to LSS are aimed at children, adolescents, and young adults with disabilities. The activity offers a safe and meaningful stay away from home, aiming to provide recreation, change of environment, and development while giving relatives respite.

We are now looking for a Unit Manager who wants to lead and develop our short-term care facilities, Svärdsjögatan and Bojsen. In this role, you are responsible for operations, economy, work environment, and staff, and you work together with engaged colleagues to create the best possible conditions for the children and young people who stay with us.

You will become part of an organization in development where collaboration, quality, and the individual's best interests are in focus. Support is available in the role from, among others, group leaders and manager colleagues within the operational area.

Job Responsibilities

As an acting Unit Manager, we offer you an exciting and varied assignment where you lead, plan, and develop the operations in accordance with legislation, guidelines, and steering documents. The role includes personnel, work environment, and budget responsibility for approximately 16 employees distributed across the Svärdsjögatan and Bojsen facilities.

You have overall responsibility for planning, staffing, and resource usage based on the needs of the operations. As support in the work with scheduling and staffing, there are group leaders and other support functions close to the operations.

Together with your employees, you drive development work to create a safe, high-quality, and individual-adapted operation with the best interests of the children and young people in focus.

The work involves both internal and external collaboration with, among others, case workers, schools, habilitation services, healthcare, other municipal operations, as well as guardians and relatives.

You are located together with the other unit managers within the section and are part of the section's management group together with manager colleagues and the section manager. There, you contribute your competence to both operation-related and section-wide issues.

As a manager in Falu Municipality, you have support from central functions within, among others, economy, HR, communication, and recruitment. In the assignment, you also have support from group leaders, support pedagogues, and other functions that contribute to quality and development in the operations.

Qualifications

Required for the role:

  • Social work or behavioral science degree, or alternatively another university education combined with work experience that the employer deems relevant for the position
  • Experience and knowledge of the target group, operational area, and the legislation governing the operations
  • Experience of management assignments with personnel, work environment, budget, and operational responsibility
  • Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish
  • Good computer skills

Terms of Employment

The recruitment concerns a temporary position on a full-time basis during parental leave. The temporary position runs from September 2026 to January 2028.
