Älvdalen Parish is seeking a Parish Priest who wants to lead with both heart and direction.

Do you want to lead a parish where presence, trust, and local anchoring are the foundation for all development? In Älvdalen, you will take on a strategic and pastoral leadership role in a community with a strong identity, engaged people, and a clear desire to shape the future of parish life together.

As the Parish Priest of Älvdalen, you will have a meaningful leadership role where, together with staff, the church council, volunteers, and parishioners, you will shape the next chapter of the parish's life. Here, tradition and hope for the future meet in a community characterized by cultural heritage, engagement, and closeness to people.

About the Role

This is a role for you who want to combine overall responsibility with presence in the daily life of the parish. You lead the parish's life and operations, are the manager of the staff, and work closely with the church council to create a common direction, sustainable structures, and long-term development. Here you have the opportunity to bring people together around a shared future and contribute to a parish life where tradition, faith, and local engagement can grow together.

The role suits you who want to combine strategic leadership with pastoral presence. You will have a key role in developing worship, parish building, work environment, and collaboration with volunteers, elected officials, and the local community. With confidence in your priestly role and the ability to build trust, you contribute to peace of mind, hope for the future, and a parish that continues to be present in people's lives.

About Älvdalen Parish

Älvdalen is a community with a strong local identity, rich cultural heritage, and proximity to forests, mountains, and outdoor life. Here, large forests, mountains, and rivers meet to form a landscape that shapes people's daily lives. Älvdalian – a unique and living language – is an important part of the community's soul. Craftsmanship, folk music, and traditional holidays have a natural place in the local community, as does nature and outdoor life with hunting, fishing, and hiking.

The parish is well anchored in the community and has close cooperation with the municipality, including in schools and elderly care. We are also engaged in local contexts such as POSOM, BRÅ, and the work to preserve Älvdalian.

Älvdalen also offers a daily life with high quality of life – with nature around the corner, a slower pace, and a community where you quickly become part of the context. Children's and youth activities are growing and are an important part of the parish's future. We want to continue building a vibrant parish life where people recognize themselves, are seen, and have room to grow in faith and community.
