We are now looking for a Unit Manager for the Economy Unit of the Care Administration!

The Care Administration is responsible for the municipality's elderly care, LSS (Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments), and social psychiatry. It is the municipality's second-largest administration with a budget of approximately 1.4 billion SEK. Currently, about 1,900 employees work within the Care Administration, and our most common professions are assistant nurses/care aides, care assistants, unit managers, needs assessors, and nurses.

Responsibilities

The position is a shared role where you combine the assignment of Administration Controller with the responsibility of Unit Manager. In both functions, you are part of the Care Administration's management group and play a central role in the administration's strategic development.

As Administration Controller, you coordinate the administration's overall financial work together with the Head of Administration. You are responsible for the budget, annual accounts, monthly follow-ups, as well as annual and interim reports to the Care Committee. The work has a clear strategic direction where you contribute with long-term analyses, economic forecasts, and qualified calculations related to the services provided by the administration. An important part of the assignment is to lead the work of identifying, analyzing, and implementing cost-effectiveness improvements from an economic perspective, as well as continuing to develop and adapt the financial organization based on the operations' needs.

You communicate the financial planning to the administration's various operations and are expected to be able to explain financial contexts in a pedagogical manner to managers, employees, politicians, and citizens. The role also includes internal cooperation with other administrations as well as external contacts with, for example, authorities.

In the assignment as Unit Manager, you lead and distribute the work within the economy team, which consists of five employees. You have budget and personnel responsibility, as well as responsibility for systematic work environment work. Together with your team, you work to ensure high-quality and operationally close financial support for the entire administration.

Overall, this is a strategic and operational key role where you combine qualified controller work with clear leadership and responsibility for developing both finance and organization in line with the operations' needs.

Qualifications

Required for the role

  • University or college education in economics
  • Good ability and experience in working with annual accounts and budgeting at an overall level
  • Several years of experience in qualified financial work within a larger organization
  • Experience in a leadership role
  • Good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing

Personal qualities

We are looking for you who are communicative and have an easy time creating good relationships and cooperation, both within and outside your own operations. You can clearly and pedagogically convey financial contexts and create understanding for decisions and priorities among managers and employees as well as politicians and other cooperation partners.

You work systematically and have a good ability to plan, prioritize, and drive the work forward. At the same time, you are analytical and solution-oriented, with the ability to see connections and find sustainable solutions that contribute to the development of the operations. You thrive in change work and are motivated by developing working methods and processes to meet future needs, always with the operations' mission and long-term sustainability in focus.

Permanent full-time position with a start date as agreed.
