The Student Health Department in Helsingborg is launching a new, targeted initiative to further strengthen support for the city's primary schools. We are therefore looking for 2–3 special needs teachers with advanced training in language, reading, and writing development, or mathematics development, who wish to contribute their expertise where the need is greatest.

The special needs teacher positions will be part of Student Health's Unit for Authority and Development, led by the unit manager. The investment in central special needs teacher positions aims to use the expertise strategically and benefit several schools and students. You will have the opportunity to work close to students in prioritized school environments and receive collegial support and supervision within Student Health. You will have the opportunity to be part of a new initiative from the start, where we together plan and set the strategy for the work.
Responsibilities
As a special needs teacher within this initiative, you are employed by the Student Health department and are periodically placed at prioritized primary schools where the need for special needs teacher expertise is particularly great. The selection of schools is based on analyses of grade results, assessment materials, pedagogical investigations, and dialogues with the city's principals.
The interventions are time-bound and goal-oriented and last for at least one semester. At the end of the semester, a joint evaluation of the intervention is conducted based on the goals established at the start. If the need persists, the assignment can be extended for another semester. If the assignment is not extended, you will be placed at another school with a need for your expertise.
Content of the Assignment
The assignments vary depending on the schools' needs and may involve you:
- working closely with individual students or student groups
- working with students in a specific class
- supporting students in special education groups
Student-centered work is central to the assignment, while you are also expected to work in close collaboration with teachers, special educators, and school leadership at the current school.
The work is structured and takes place in close dialogue with the principal of the relevant school(s) and the unit manager within Student Health. Together, you clarify goals, follow up on interventions, and participate in evaluations.

Qualifications
We are looking for you who:
- are trained as a special needs teacher with a focus on language, writing, and reading development, or mathematics development,
- have a teaching license for primary school,
- have experience working as a special needs teacher,
- are flexible and have good collaboration skills,
- have a curious and development-oriented approach,
- are motivated by working with clear goals and follow-up,
- have experience in removing obstacles for students' learning.
