About the role

This is not a traditional mechanic position. You will be the first mechanic in the organization, offering a unique opportunity to help build the workshop, working methods, and structure from the ground up.

The company operates its own fleet of approximately 20 buses, which continues to grow. The vehicles consist primarily of Setra and Mercedes buses from model years 1995–2004, which places high demands on experience, technical understanding, and the ability to work independently.

You will have significant influence over the operations and play a key role in ensuring high operational reliability and quality within the fleet.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

• Has at least 10 years of experience as a bus mechanic
• Has documented experience with older buses, particularly model years from 1995–2004
• Has extensive knowledge of Setra and Mercedes vehicles
• Is self-motivated and accustomed to taking responsibility for your work
• Has strong problem-solving skills and thrives on technical challenges
• Hold a valid B-driver's license
• Fluent in Swedish or English, both verbally and in writing

Merits

• D-driver's license
• Experience with older vehicles lacking modern diagnostic systems
• Experience from bus companies, transport firms, or larger fleets
• Previous experience in workshop management, planning, or technical leadership

Responsibilities

• Service, troubleshooting, and repair of older buses
• Mechanical maintenance of drivetrains, brakes, steering, air systems, and cooling systems
• Preventive maintenance to ensure high operational reliability
• Diagnosis and problem-solving in complex technical environments
• Preparation for inspections and follow-up checks
• Technical support during bus conversions in collaboration with other professional groups

The work concerns the company's own fleet only – no external customer orders.
