About the role
This is a consulting assignment, meaning you will be employed by Academic Work and work on-site for our client in Lund. The assignment is full-time, starting on 2026-10-01 and initially extending to February 2027, with good prospects for extension.
As a Mechanical/Process Engineer, you will become a key person in a cohesive team responsible for complex, water-related systems. Since process technology is central, you will have a coordinating and unifying role with close collaboration across several departments. The position involves exciting travel, primarily to Karlskrona.
As the assignment is classified, Swedish citizenship and a successful security clearance are required before starting.
Responsibilities
- Own system function: Take responsibility for your system's function, performance, and lifecycle throughout the entire development process.
- Requirements and design: Develop technical system solutions that meet requirements and write technical specifications.
- Verify and commission: Carry out system commissioning and verify that set requirements are met by subcontractors or in the final product.
- Act as subject matter expert: Participate as a technical expert in complex R&D projects, concept studies, and maintenance projects for the final product.
- Train and support: Pedagogically train crew members in the practical operation of the systems.
We are looking for someone who
- Excellent communication skills in both Swedish and English, verbally and in writing, as you are expected to coordinate projects and write technical specifications.
- Advanced practical knowledge in Systems Engineering and structured requirements management.
- Good practical knowledge of working with liquid or flow systems, for example, by having been responsible for the design, calculation, or maintenance of complex flow systems.
- Degree in Engineering in Mechanical Engineering, Process Technology, or another relevant field.
- Ability to undergo and pass a security clearance according to current regulations.
It is an advantage if you have
- Basic knowledge of subcontractor management and technical review.
- Knowledge of process technology and experience in interpreting and reading P&ID diagrams.
- Experience with practical commissioning such as Factory Acceptance Test (FAT).
- Basic knowledge of system tools such as IBM DOORS, Polarion, or Jira.
