About the Workplace

Rydebäcksskolan is a comprehensive school (grades F-9) located approximately one mile south of Helsingborg. Currently, the school has around 940 students divided between two school buildings. The school consists largely of newly built and renovated premises, creating fantastic opportunities for pedagogical development. Job Responsibilities

This role is suited for you if you are service-oriented, calm, attentive, and accommodating in your interactions. You are skilled at structuring, planning, and prioritizing your work, as well as creating, maintaining, and developing professional relationships. A major focus of the responsibilities is ensuring that our physical working environment meets various requirements. This is achieved through ongoing maintenance of the school's premises and equipment, as well as contact with contractors and property owners.

The work as a caretaker is both physical and administrative. You are expected to collaborate with other staff to make the school a safe, pleasant, and learning-oriented environment. This includes helping staff with practical tasks. You are responsible for supervision and inspection of premises and outdoor areas. Duties include property maintenance, minor repairs, snow clearing, and ice control. You handle fault reports and follow-ups with property owners, manage locks, access systems, and alarms, and conduct systematic fire safety work. Additional duties include ordering consumables, receiving deliveries, waste management, performing minor repairs on furniture/equipment, and following up on inventory lists. You must be able to maintain, troubleshoot, and replace digital equipment in classrooms and other school areas.

You troubleshoot and resolve issues, ensure documentation of cases, follow routines, and suggest/implement improvements in collaboration with management and staff. You also assist the operation with various service tasks.

Qualifications

You have education and experience as a caretaker, property technician, or equivalent work experience deemed comparable.

You have knowledge of and experience with physical working environment issues, including fire safety work. You are knowledgeable about the tasks required to ensure a working environment in accordance with current legislation. You are goal-oriented, accustomed to systematic working environment work, and keep the school's working environment in focus. You are technically competent regarding installation and repairs, and can troubleshoot and perform simple diagnostics on faults in various digital tools and media equipment.

The work can be physically demanding, so good physical fitness is required. As a person, you are service-oriented, flexible, and see opportunities rather than obstacles. You have an inclusive approach characterized by diversity, influence, and care. You are positive, responsible, engaged, and have a solution-oriented approach. The position requires that you can take initiative and work both independently and in collaboration with others. Your working style is structured, and you have a good ability to prioritize work effectively. You have a good ability to build relationships with both colleagues and students.

Good computer skills and the ability to handle IT-based systems and hardware are required to manage cases and communication channels, such as orders via the City of Helsingborg's order catalog.

The position requires proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written. A Category B driver's license is also required.
