About the Assignment

We are currently seeking dedicated and responsible personal assistants for a young child with extensive disabilities. The child has diagnoses within the NPF spectrum (neuropsychiatric disabilities) and lacks independence in all daily activities.

The work takes place in the home as well as during community activities.

Your Main Responsibilities

As a personal assistant, you will be a crucial support for the child's safety, development, and participation in daily life. The work includes, among other things:

• Support with personal hygiene, toilet visits, showering, and care.
• Dressing and undressing, including support with clothing choices.
• Feeding and supervision during meals – ensuring nutritional intake and preventing choking risks.
• Communication and interpretation of the child's signals (non-verbal).
• Prevention of risky behaviors and outbursts, including distraction and calming interventions.
• Accompaniment during activities, outdoor time, and excursions.
• Self-care tasks (e.g., medication, skin care).
• Safe presence, structure, and continuity in daily life.

Who Are You?

We are looking for someone who is secure, patient, and able to act professionally even in demanding situations. You need to be perceptive, clear, and have a good sense of the child's needs regarding communication, structure, and safety.

Requirements:

• Good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written.
• Physical and mental endurance – the work can be both physically and emotionally demanding.
• Flexibility and a sense of responsibility.
• Good teamwork skills and respect for the child's integrity and the family's wishes.

Merits:

• Experience working with children with autism, intellectual disabilities, or ADHD.
• Experience in personal assistance, special education, habilitation, or other care-related roles.
• Background in Child and Youth Care, Nursing and Care Education, or other relevant background.
• Valid driver's license (Category B).

Before You Start

For this assignment, a certificate from the Swedish Police Authority (extract from the record of offenses for work with children with disabilities) is required, which we request in connection with employment. This is a prerequisite for starting work in the assignment.
