About the role
Personal assistance is a support measure under the Swedish LSS (Law on Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments). As a Personal Assistant, you will primarily help the client with daily needs and basic requirements. Your work involves safeguarding the client’s self-determination and privacy, while ensuring their daily life runs smoothly. Each assistance arrangement is uniquely tailored to the client’s lifestyle, meaning tasks may vary depending on the placement.
The client is a 33-year-old man living in Ljungby. His main interests are music, vehicles/car brands, and church activities. He enjoys playing various instruments together with his assistant. Crafting is also a favorite, with Duplo, coloring books, puzzles, and memory games used frequently. The client’s individual needs dictate the workday, which may include assistance with mobility, personal care, training, communication, as well as daily chores and activities both at home and out in the community.
Who are you?
The role of a Personal Assistant requires strong interpersonal skills. We are therefore looking for someone who is empathetic, engaged, and responsible. It is also important that you can take initiative and proactively identify what needs to be done. To thrive in this role, it is essential that there is good chemistry between you as the assistant and the client.
Requirements for the position:
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Good proficiency in Swedish for record-keeping and communication with authorities
The following qualifications are meritorious:
- Experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum
- Experience with low-affective approach (LAB)
- Experience supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities
- Experience with alternative communication methods such as AAC and TAKK
Personal suitability will be given significant weight.
Working hours, employment percentage, and salary
The current employment type is an hourly contract, meaning work on demand with varying shifts throughout the day and night, including standby periods. Shifts are scheduled 09:00–09:00 or 08:15–08:15 with standby from 23:00–06:25 on weekends and holidays, while weekday shifts run from 14:15–08:15 with standby from 23:00–06:25. From autumn onwards, there will also be an opportunity for a scheduled position at 47.5% for the right candidate.
A fixed hourly wage will be agreed upon, along with other benefits according to the collective agreement.
Start date as agreed.
