Disability Support is a department within the Welfare Administration tasked with implementing decisions made under the LSS Act, primarily concerning housing with special services, personal assistance, and day activities. Our goal is to promote equal living conditions and full participation in society, ensuring that individuals granted support can live independently on equal terms with others.
We provide individually tailored support of high quality, focusing on self-determination and respectful treatment in all our operations.
We are now looking for an engaged and goal-oriented Support Assistant for Kroksta Group Home! This is a permanent full-time position with start date according to agreement. Working hours cover days, evenings, and weekends. We use operation-adapted schedules, which means you may occasionally work at other group homes in the municipality.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for creating and following up on implementation plans, social documentation, and administrative tasks such as scheduling, purchase orders, and health and safety matters, together with the user.
Together with your colleagues, you will carry out daily support interventions and planned activities. You will support and motivate users in household and leisure activities, build trusting relationships, and serve as a positive role model.
You ensure that support is based on individual needs, promotes independence and participation, and always respects privacy and self-determination. Your tasks include assistance with daily chores, personal hygiene, and medication. The role often involves working alone, with varying hours as we provide care around the clock.
You will drive development work forward together with colleagues according to set goals, methods, quality requirements, and guidelines. Collaboration with the user's network, other staff, and external partners is an integral part of the job.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have a high school diploma in one of the following:
- Care and Nursing Programme with specialization in disability or psychiatry.
- Child and Leisure Programme with focus on social work or pedagogy.
- Or other equivalent education deemed sufficient by the employer.
Experience working with challenging behavior is required.
You must be at least 18 years old to work within care and nursing.
It is important that you treat people professionally based on their individual circumstances. As a person, you are independent, stress-resistant, and user-focused. You are empathetic, responsible, and enjoy collaborating with others. Strong social skills and flexibility are valued. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
You must have sufficient knowledge of Swedish in both speech and writing to communicate with users, perform care documentation, and obtain medication delegation.
Please attach your CV and a cover letter with your application. If hired, you will need to present an extract from the police's criminal record register.
