Together with engaged colleagues, you will be there for young people where they are – on youth clubs, in school environments, and out in the community – building relationships that make a difference, both here and now and in the long term.

The Individual and Family Treatment Unit is part of the social services' work with children, young people, and families. Here you will meet social workers, social pedagogues, therapists, and other professionals who work closely together with both preventive and supportive measures. We are curious, solution-oriented, and like to try new ways to reach young people. You will have significant personal responsibility, while also having a stable team and supportive leadership behind you.

We are the municipality's largest employer and offer a broad working environment with good development opportunities, benefits such as a wellness allowance and the possibility to exercise during working hours, as well as flexible working methods that make it easier to balance everyday life.

Responsibilities

In the role of field worker, you work outreach and preventive with young people in Härnösand. You move where young people are, create safe contacts, and are an adult who listens, supports, and sometimes challenges – in a respectful way. The work takes place both during the day and in the evening, and you collaborate closely with both colleagues and other actors in the municipality.

  • Build and maintain relationships with young people in different environments, both individually and in groups.
  • Work outreach and preventively to early identify needs for support and create safer living situations.
  • Collaborate with schools, leisure activities, social services, and other actors regarding young people at risk.
  • Plan, implement, and follow up on activities and measures that promote participation, community, and health.
  • Document your work and contribute materials for assessments, follow-ups, and further development of the operations.
  • Participate actively in team meetings, collaboration forums, and development work within the unit.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a post-secondary education in, for example, social work, behavioral science, social pedagogy, leisure pedagogy, or other relevant education for social work. You have experience in meeting children and young people in different life situations and are confident in talking about both fun and difficult things. You enjoy being out in the field, taking initiative, and following up on your work in a structured manner.

  • Post-secondary education in social work, behavioral science, social pedagogy, leisure pedagogy, or equivalent relevant area.
  • 3 years of experience in preventive and outreach work with young people.
  • Experience in social work within the child and family area.
  • Knowledge of children's and young people's development and living conditions.
  • Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish.
  • Basic digital competence and experience working in documentation and planning systems.

Meritorious is if you have worked in or close to social services, or in voluntary activities and leisure activities for young people. Perhaps you have experience from school environments or club life, or are used to driving projects and activities together with young people. Most importantly, you are passionate about creating positive contexts where young people can grow.

  • Experience of work within municipal social services or similar operations.
  • Experience of leisure activities, club life, or youth organizations.
  • Experience of collaboration work between different professions and operations.
  • Experience of planning and leading groups or activities for young people.
  • Experience of working in a politically governed organization.

As a person, you are calm, secure, and clear, even when things are blowing a bit extra around you. You like to build trust, are good at listening, and have an easy time connecting with young people from different backgrounds. You enjoy working independently out in the field but also appreciate being part of a team where you share experiences and support each other.
