Key Role in Project Coordination and Purchasing – Umeå Mark & VA
Umeå Mark & VA ABVästerbottens län, Umeå
Previous experience is desired
Do you want to be part of developing a company where you can truly make a difference?
We are not just looking for a new employee. We are looking for someone who sees the big picture. Someone who enjoys creating structure, coordinating people and resources, and is driven by the desire to improve both projects and the people around them.
Here, you will become a key person in the business – the link between costing, purchasing, production, and management. You will work closely with our owners, support functions, site managers, and foremen, contributing to giving our projects the best possible conditions from the start.
Umeå Mark & VA is a family-owned company with approximately 60 employees, of whom 17 work at our office in Umeå.
Next year, we celebrate our 10th anniversary – a milestone we are proud of. Over the years, we have grown rapidly, but we have been careful to retain what has made us successful: short decision-making paths, high professional pride, strong drive, and a family-like culture where we help each other succeed.
Now we are looking for the next key person for our continued journey.
About the role
This is a new role for us, which means you will have great opportunities to influence both the content of the position and how we move forward.
You will be the one holding together many of the parts that make our projects run efficiently, profitably, and with high quality. You will work proactively, see opportunities before they become problems, and help the organization work smarter together.
Your main responsibilities
- Be responsible for purchasing and supplier contacts in both the costing and production phases.
- Coordinate material purchases between our projects to create better deals and more efficient purchasing.
- In collaboration with production management, plan and allocate resources between ongoing projects.
- Coordinate subcontractors and ensure that the right competence is in the right place at the right time.
- Provide operational support to our site managers and foremen, following up on schedules and budgets.
- Participate in costing and tender work together with our cost engineers.
- Be involved in dialogues with clients, suppliers, and partners.
- Contribute to developing our working methods, routines, and production processes.
- Work closely with the company's management and be an important part of our continued development.
In short, you will be one of the people ensuring that the whole machinery works.
Who are you?
You likely have experience from the earthworks, civil engineering, or construction industry and understand how contracting projects work – from costing to finished production.
But for us, who you are is just as important as what you have done.
We believe that you:
- Have a natural drive and enjoy taking initiative.
- See the big picture without losing sight of the details.
- Are confident, clear, and unpretentious.
- Are solution-oriented and like finding smarter ways of working.
- Easily build trust and form good relationships.
- Enjoy having many contact points and like collaborating.
- Are driven by seeing people develop and succeed.
- Want to be part of developing both the company and the people around you.
A valid driver's license (Category B) is required for the position, as well as spoken and written Swedish and English, as the tasks require it.
Why you will thrive with us
Here, our staff is our most important asset. You will become part of a company where people know each other, where decisions are made close to the operations, and where you have the opportunity to make a real impact. Ideas do not get lost in several layers of management here. If you have a good idea, there are all opportunities to realize it, and you will see the results of your work directly.
We believe that success is built by engaged people who care about each other and about the work we do.
We hold ourselves to high standards, but we do it together. We help each other, share our knowledge, and believe in freedom under responsibility. For us, leadership is about creating conditions for others to succeed, and we believe that the best results are created when people feel involvement, security, trust, and joy in work.
We do not just build water and sewage facilities, house foundations, and outdoor environments. We are building a company where people want to stay, develop, and feel pride in what we achieve together.
Do you want to build the future with us?
We are not looking for the perfect resume.
We are looking for a person who wants to continue developing a company with high ambitions, strong team spirit, and a genuine commitment to both people and quality.
We are proud of what we have built – but we also feel that the most exciting part of the journey still lies ahead of us.
Are you the one who wants to shape that future with us?
Then we hope to have the opportunity to meet you.
We will begin the selection of candidates during week 33, but please do not wait to submit your application!
