The Role
I am looking for employees hired per hour worked (hourly employment) with a possible option for fixed-term employment later on.
In addition, I am also looking for an assistant for a fixed-term substitute position of 37 hours per week on average, extending until January 2027.
During the day, there are two shifts. The shifts are scheduled sometime between 06:30–23:45. Shifts may have different times on occasions such as concerts or parties.
The work may include evening and weekend shifts. You will work more during some periods and less during others. This also affects the salary. The salary is hourly based. Shifts may need to be changed. Travel both within Sweden and abroad may occur. No double assistance. It is a plus if you can step in extra in case of illness or other absences with short notice.
Due to the nature of the job involving intimate support such as showering and toilet visits, I am looking for someone who identifies as a woman or non-binary. The position is initially an hourly employment. Great emphasis is placed on personal chemistry. Introductory meetings and trial shifts are applied. The process can be terminated from either side if it does not feel right. If it is the right person, a discussion about fixed-term employment may become relevant at a later stage. In that case, it is important that you view the work as long-term. Continuity in the assistant group is very important to me.
Personal Qualities
I am looking for someone who is comfortable having an important supporting role and stepping back, but stepping forward when needed. You are calm, attentive, and responsive. You have great patience and are confident in yourself. Qualities such as being flexible, meticulous, and structured are good for this job. You need to be okay with not knowing everything in advance. You have a good eye for communication (both verbal and alternative communication methods).
The Work
I am in a new phase. I enjoy living in my own apartment in Farsta. I am 24 years old and come from South Korea. My biggest interests are music, food, and books. I value my privacy highly. I need time to let other people into my life. I am cautious but careful. Currently, I have no employment. My hope is to study in the future. Cerebral Palsy happens to be a companion in my life. I can walk, but I use a wheelchair for longer distances. I lack verbal speech.
You will become my extended hands and my amplifier. I may need your help in different ways at different times, even when it comes to the same task. Sometimes I have more energy, sometimes less. It is important to me to do what I can within my time and energy limits. Sometimes it is about saving energy. The job can take place at various locations in Stockholm.
Tasks that may occur include personal hygiene, cooking, meal assistance, household chores, support during activities, and taking notes. In short, ADL (Activities of Daily Living) tasks. Tasks that stand out a bit extra in this job are support in communication and handling of the Mic-Key button. I need assistants who can interpret and convey my communication in both Swedish and English. As my assistant, you need to know me, my CP, and my communication methods very well. You need to be able to pick up on details and nuances in me. During medical visits or similar, support in communication is particularly significant – you become my voice.
Assistance is also about that extra touch, like getting the eyeliner exactly how I want it, having my sacred vinyl listening time, or wearing a face mask on a Wednesday.
Conditions
- Vacation pay supplement applies
- Shift work supplement applies
- Collective agreement (Fremia–Kommunal)
