Do you want to work in a contracting company where you can combine strategic purchasing with operational support? We are now looking for a Purchaser who wants to help develop our purchasing processes and create long-term value for the business.

About the role

As a Purchaser at Bäckström Anläggning, you report to the Purchasing Manager and serve as a specialist support for purchasing matters within the organization. You work both strategically and operationally to develop the supplier base, negotiate contracts, and ensure that the business receives the right goods and services at the right quality, cost, and time.

The role involves close collaboration with production, finance, and other support functions to ensure that purchases meet the business's needs.

Your main responsibilities

  • Negotiate supplier agreements and terms, such as prices, delivery, and payment terms.
  • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with existing and new suppliers.
  • Conduct supplier assessments and monitor delivery performance.
  • Ensure order and structure in contracts, supplier information, and purchasing documentation.
  • Draw up contracts and carry out purchases based on project needs and budget frameworks.
  • Handle complaints and quality issues together with suppliers and internal functions.
  • Identify risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement within the purchasing process.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone with post-secondary education in areas such as purchasing, logistics, engineering, or economics. You have at least three years of experience in strategic purchasing, preferably from the contracting, construction, or civil engineering industry, along with good knowledge of purchasing law.

You also have:

  • Good knowledge of technology, production, and economics.
  • Experience in planning, follow-up, and negotiation.
  • Good system proficiency and experience with MS 365, especially Excel, Teams, and Word.
  • Good ability to communicate in Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing.
