Social Pedagogue for Small Teaching Group

Do you want to make a real difference for students who need extra tailored support? We are now looking for an engaged and secure social pedagogue for our small teaching group.

Our Operations

Ekedalsskolan is a historic F-5 school located in Gustavsberg, approximately 25 minutes by bus from Slussen. The school has approximately 440 students in grades F-5. Ekedalsskolan was fully renovated a few years ago, and operations are now conducted in new modern school facilities with modern technical equipment. At our school, a warm and engaged staff works with the students' best interests in mind. The work is characterized by the good atmosphere and respect that exists among everyone, both students and teachers as well as other staff.

The education students encounter at Ekedalsskolan is characterized by being well grounded in the learning objectives found in the curriculum, clearly structured, and offering variation in working methods. For the past three years, we have worked with IBIS (Inclusive Behavioral Support in Schools), a research project led by Uppsala University. Our vision "Together we create security, well-being, and prerequisites for learning" underpins our work across the entire school.

Ekedalsskolan has an outdoor profile. This profile means that the school repeatedly offers students experience-based learning outdoors based on outdoor life. We promote the students' needs for knowledge, movement, and community in the fantastic nature surrounding our school.

Your Role

As a social pedagogue, you will become an important part of close collaboration in our studio regarding students who need extraordinary special support in a smaller context. You work together with teachers and other staff to create a secure, structured, and developmental learning environment where every student has the opportunity to succeed based on their own prerequisites. You are present with the students as a secure educator throughout the school day, from the first lesson of the day to the afternoon's adapted leisure activities.

We are looking for someone who

• Is educated as a social pedagogue, preferably with experience working in a small teaching group in lower and middle school.
• Has documented experience working with children and young people with neurodevelopmental disorders (NPF).
• Has a low-affective approach and a solution-focused attitude.
• Is receptive and has the ability to build good relationships with students, guardians, colleagues, and other staff.
• Is easy to collaborate with and contributes to a positive work climate.
• Is secure, flexible, and can adapt your working methods to the students' individual needs.
