We are looking for several expert reviewers and construction site support specialists in geotechnics for the Swedish Transport Administration's (Trafikverket) Västlänken project.

This is a consulting assignment based in Gothenburg. The position is full-time.

The assignment involves close collaboration with the client, which places high demands on flexibility and teamwork.

The Assignment

The role consists of providing expert support within geotechnical constructions and expert-reviewing construction reports for the Västlänken division. As time permits, you will also support other projects within Trafikverket.

Responsibilities

• Expert-review temporary and permanent geotechnical constructions (structures where set requirements or intended function depend on subsoil properties, e.g., sheet piles, piling, ground improvement, embankment slopes, cutting slopes, etc.).
• Provide expert support to the construction management during the execution phase.
• Follow up on controls during the execution phase related to issues arising during the construction stage.

Requirements for Resource 1 (OBS, mandatory)

• Fluent Swedish in speech and writing.
• a) Relevant university education or equivalent with a geotechnical focus and at least 15 years of work experience in geotechnics.
• b) At least 15 years of work experience in geotechnics.
• c) Experience as a geotechnical expert reviewer for road or railway projects within the last five years, in assignments larger than 1 billion SEK.
• d) Documented experience in reviewing and assessing FEM calculations for soft clays. Documented experience means having worked on reviews and assessments in assignments larger than 500 million SEK.
• e) Documented experience in geotechnical investigation assignments for soft clays. Documented experience means having been the case manager in investigation assignments covering at least 50 million SEK.
• f) Documented experience as the responsible geotechnical engineer for deep excavations, at least 15 m, in soft clays.

Requirements for Resource 2 (OBS, mandatory)

• g) Relevant university education or equivalent with a geotechnical focus.
• h) At least 15 years of work experience in geotechnics.
• i) At least 10 years of documented experience from infrastructure projects in the construction phase.
• j) Handled production issues regarding ground and foundation in projects with soft clays, including excavations >10 m deep and temporary support structures. Documented experience means having worked in construction phase projects covering at least 250 million SEK.

Requirements for Resource 3 (OBS, mandatory)

• k) Relevant university education or equivalent with a geotechnical focus.
• l) At least 7 years of work experience in geotechnics.
• m) Conducted control analyses and calculations related to issues concerning excavations and soft clays.

Merits

• Experience with underwater excavations of at least 5 m in the construction phase in infrastructure projects in an urban environment.
• Experience as an expert reviewer for at least one (1) complex infrastructure project in an urban environment. A complex infrastructure project is defined as having a scope of at least 5 billion SEK.
