Our partner GKN Aerospace is facing exciting challenges and needs to strengthen its team with an Associate Research Engineer for their research center.

In the role of Associate Research Engineer, you will become an important part of a dynamic team that contributes to ensuring high quality and reliability in manufacturing processes within the aerospace industry.

Example of responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with process development teams to ensure high quality and reliability in production.

  • Participate in the development of innovative inspection methods for advanced components within the aerospace and space industry.

  • Analyze inspection data to identify improvement opportunities, optimize processes, and increase understanding of material- and manufacturing-related defects.

You will have the opportunity to collaborate with world-leading experts in NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) both within GKN and with external industrial partners. There you will learn various NDT methods such as:

  • X-ray Computed Tomography (CT).

  • Radiography.

  • Ultrasonic testing.

The assignment requires you to undergo a security interview and be approved according to current regulations. The assignment also entails citizenship requirements.

Who are you?

We are looking for you who have a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Economics/Industrial Engineering, Physics, or a similar field. You have a good understanding of manufacturing processes, including additive manufacturing, and have previous experience in developing new NDT processes. Experience with CAE tools or knowledge of NDT is advantageous.

We focus primarily on your personality and believe that you are a flexible and receptive person who thrives working with others. You have clear and effective communication skills and have a positive attitude towards developing new methods rather than solely using existing solutions.

You are fluent in Swedish and English, both in speech and writing.

What we offer you:

At AQ Engineering, you will become part of a growing organization that develops future products within defense and aerospace, automotive, energy storage, and e-mobility. We believe in simplicity and entrepreneurship, solving complex challenges in a smart and uncomplicated way. Here you are encouraged to take initiative, test ideas in our prototype workshop, and drive your own work forward. As part of the AQ Group, you collaborate with over 9,000 colleagues around the world and gain access to AQ Group's over 50 factories.

Competence development is something AQ holds dear, and we therefore invest in tailored competence development plans for you as an employee. This gives you the opportunity to grow within your field, broaden your competence base, and prepare you for future challenges.

We care about your health and well-being by offering a generous wellness allowance, joint activities to strengthen team spirit, and secure employment conditions according to the current collective agreement.

We warmly welcome your application today as selection and interviews are conducted on an ongoing basis.
