Clean tap water and functioning sewage systems are things most people never have to think about. Behind this lies a pipe network that must function around the clock. We are now looking for an Operations Manager who wants to become part of our operations center and contribute to the safe and stable operation of one of Gothenburg's most important public services.

Responsibilities

As an Operations Manager, you will work in our operations center together with four colleagues. Together, you are responsible for monitoring the pipe network and ensuring that operational disruptions, alarms, and incoming cases are handled quickly, safely, and with the right prioritization. An important part of the role is also to handle and assess incoming inquiries and provide relevant information and guidance to private individuals, businesses, and colleagues within the administration.

The work is varied and event-driven. One moment you are planning an operational shutdown, the next you are handling an operational alarm, coordinating an emergency response, or guiding a customer through a technical issue. The role requires you to prioritize, analyze information, make well-founded decisions, and maintain overview when multiple cases are ongoing simultaneously.

Your main responsibilities include:

• monitoring the operation of the pipe network and handling incoming operational alarms
• handling and assessing incoming inquiries and providing relevant information and guidance to private individuals, businesses, and colleagues
• analyzing information and assessing appropriate measures
• coordinating and dispatching technicians as needed
• planning operational shutdowns together with technicians and operations planners
• informing the public via website, SMS, and other information channels
• documenting and following up on cases in our operational systems.

You work daily in documentation systems and mapping programs where the telephone and computer are your primary work tools.

You will also become an important part of developing the operations center's working methods and service so that we can continuously improve the way we work.

The role entails significant responsibility for ensuring safe and functioning operation of our water and wastewater facilities and contributing to a secure and reliable water supply for residents and businesses.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a technical interest and enjoy solving problems. You like providing good service, work in a structured manner, and take responsibility for driving your cases to completion. You have an easy time analyzing information and making well-founded decisions, even when the pace is high.

Since the work involves many contacts, you need to be able to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing. You also have an easy time collaborating with others and building trusting relationships, both internally and externally.

We are looking for you who have:

• a high school diploma
• a valid driver's license (Category B)
• experience handling technical questions in a customer-facing role
• experience reading and interpreting maps and schedules.

It is meritorious if you have:

• high school education with a technical focus or post-secondary technical education, or alternatively other education or experience that the employer deems equivalent
• experience in operation and maintenance within water and wastewater services or other technical infrastructure.

Conditions

The position is security classified, which means you need to be a Swedish citizen and pass a security check with registry control.
