Environmental and Health Protection Unit Seeks Experienced Environmental Inspector

The Environmental and Health Protection Unit, with its 27 employees, operates under the Environment and Building Permit Board and is part of the Community Planning Administration in Järfälla Municipality.

Our goal is to be an efficient and legally secure authority that contributes to good food safety, a healthy environment, and sustainable development in the municipality.

As an inspector, you will work both independently and in a group, meaning you should be able to collaborate well with your colleagues and drive your own projects. We are currently seeking an experienced environmental inspector with a focus on environmental protection. The environmental protection group currently consists of ten people.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Supervision of contaminated areas and mass management.
• Development supervision.
• Supervision of infrastructure and B-objects.
• Handling urgent cases, such as environmental accidents – we all help out here.

Tasks can be adapted based on previous experience and the needs of the operations. At our workplace, everyone is involved in planning and can choose which issues they wish to work with.

You will draft correspondence and decision support documents and make independent decisions within delegated authority. As an inspector, you may represent the authority in various collaboration groups. You will also contribute to meeting the department's supervision plan with promised processing times and will be involved in the department's quality work. We use Ecos 2 as our case management system.

Qualifications

• University-educated environmental inspector or equivalent higher education.
• Documented knowledge of environmental legislation is required.
• Valid driver's license (Category B).
• Preference is given to candidates with several years of experience working with issues related to contaminated areas.

We believe you have good planning skills, the ability to work independently, and the capacity to base decisions on good judgment and sound legal practice. You should be structured and service-oriented. Supervision work requires good verbal and written communication skills. Since building good relationships is important, your personal qualities are crucial to us. Good knowledge of the Office package is required.
